Unfortunately, despite having booked fast admission, you have to queue to exchange the online ticket for a normal ticket in order to get in at all. It's a shame, that's the only reason I deducted a star. Otherwise great with the audio guide, you can always see where you are on the map. Explanations of the buildings are supplemented by additional information. There are always fountains in the area where you could fill up your drinking bottles with clear cold water. We had our Chihuahua with us and from time to time I simply held him under the tap to cool down and wet him.

don't know where the fast track happened but enjoyed looking around Pompeii. The audio guide was good once you worked out they meant inside the actual site and not just through the ticket entrance. Fascinating place and amazing to see how well preserved mosaics and painting on walls are. Also good that your entrance price is going into excavations. Spent over 4 hours here and not covered all of it. Take plenty of fluids and a hat and sun screen-it was fiercely hot! Would recommend this tour but be aware you need to collect your tickets from a different place to the gate By an ice cream sign just outside or you will queue twice!
