The morning starts with a visit to different sites of historical interest in Coimbra before heading to Fatima for lunch and a visit to the house of the Marto family and the sanctuary. I wish we had factored in the schedule of masses at the sanctuary on first Saturday but otherwise, everything was excellent.

We had a small group leaving from Porto and the ride was comfortable and clean. The guide was excellent .on our way to Fatima he played great music and told the story of the miracle at Fatima. He gave us a tour of old Fatima as well as the basilica and then we went on to Cuimbra .

Very informative full day experience! Fransisco, our tour guide, was knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. Highly recommended for anyone looking for what else Portugal has to offer. Coimbra is a beautiful city that we want to revisit in the future. And we were lucky to visit Fatima on Oct 13, a very holy day.
