It's the luck of the draw whether you see the whales or not. We managed to see some Minke whales and the guide was so knowledgeable about the area and the whales. Overall a good experience, wish we'd seen more but giving 5 stars because the guides were great and it's not their fault we didn't see much! I'd go again maybe in warmer weather next time.

Wonderful adventure, we saw whales, puffins, and other maritime wildlife. The guide, Marie (I believe that was her name ), was delightful and very knowledgeable. The boat is small and very fast. It probably will hold 14 passengers, they supplied gloves, warm overalls, and goggles. I was worried about sea sickness, so I picked a time when the maritime forcast was for swells under o.4 m, but with the speed of the boat it felt like we flew over the water. Be prepared to hang on, the ride was thrilling. I speak for the 4 in my party, we would do this again.
