Full description

Embark on a guided tour from Reykjavik to the Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon. Witness the mighty Hvannadalshnjúkur mountain and black sand desert that sprawls between Skaftafell National Park and the lagoon.

Stop at Seljalandsfoss waterfall, where you can walk behind the cascades to reach the other side. Continue to the majestic Skógafoss waterfall and admire the impressive 60-meter drop. Continue to Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon and stroll along the shores of the lake.

Immerse yourself in the tranquility of the area as 1,000- to 1,500-year-old ice breaks away from the Vatnajökull glacier and floats silently on the water. Recognize locations from some of the many movies that have been filmed in the area, such as Batman Begins and Tomb Raider.

Stop at the spectacular Diamond Beach and admire the strand of black sand speckled with clumps of ice, giving an appearance of shimmering diamonds. In the warmer months, enjoy an added boat ride around the lagoon and witness the floating icebergs up-close.

All of the stops were amazing to see. The waterfalls, the glaciers and the black sand beaches were all wonderful to see. The only negative was all the stops, some of which seemed unnecessary. The lunch stop was way too short and the place was extremely busy. So if you are ok with chips for lunch, you will be fine.

When you have high expectations, it is very easy to be disappointed. This day, on the other hand, has exceeded all expectations. In addition to the places visited which are incredible, the organization is impeccable. Maybe it would take a few more minutes on some stops but to see so many things in one day is the price to pay. However you can see everything. Highly recommended (I suggest option with boat)

You will pass through magnificent places, visit a couple of waterfalls and the glacial lagoon which deserve it especially if it is a sunny day. The stop at the city of Vik is not worth it, you only stop for an hour to eat, even if the beach is a stone's throw away, others in the west of the island deserve more. It is many hours by bus and this is a bit tiring, the guide did not involve us much. They picked us up from the hotel.
