Full description

Hike the monolithic mountain of Pedra da Gáveafor some of the best views of Rio de Janeiro. Experience the world's biggest block of solid rock by the sea, and get stunning panoramas from its peak. While shorter than the traditional Pedra da Gávea trail, this hike is considered more difficult as it is steeper and requires good orienteering skills. First, hike through the dense forest with your specialist guide.

All assistance from your guide is provided. Benefit from their expertise as they help the group with all safety techniques and procedures needed. Once at the View point, look out at Guanabara Bay, the districts of Ipanema and Leblon, São Conrado, and the Barra Tijuca. Catch your breath before starting your descent. Return to the base of Pedra da Gávea. Relax and keep your eyes open for the native wild animals of the Atlantic rainforest of Rio de Janeiro along the way.

Fantastic and tough hike with amazing views that are worth the trip! Our guide Gui was a knowledgeable hiker/climber who was so fun to be around and talk to (he spoke English very well)! Our driver was also great- on time, good driver, and a super nice guy. Would definitely recommend if you’re up for a challenging day and the best views of Rio!

If you’re in Rio, please do this! Before the tour started, we, as a group, decided which trail to hike and climb. In my case, we chose the hardest trail with climbing equipment. It was quite tough, but worth the view! It’s breathtaking from the top! Our tour guide was Thomas. He supported us in every situation. I have a huge recommendation and a shoutout to him; it was astonishing!
