Start your day when you are picked up at your hotel or apartment in Colmar before beginning your tour through the Alsace in a comfortable air-conditioned minivan.  Departing from the historical center of Colmar, you will pass through the wine route along the beautiful vineyards and little villages, from there you can explore the typical Alsatian architecture which is magical, colorful, and unique. You will make a stop at the four wonders of the Alsace as they are called. The first one is Eguisheim, one of the most beautiful villages in France. Then drive further along the Alsatian wine route, immerse yourself in the world of vineyards and products which make the Ribeauvillé and Riquewihr region’s reputation.  To test the region’s wine reputation, you will visit a typical wine cave and you can taste a big variety of wines such as Gewurztraminer, Riesling, Pinot noir, and many more.  Your tour will end with Kaysersberg, where its high fortress dominates the city and serves as a reminder of both its strategic importance and its warlike past. After visiting these 4 wonders, our driver will bring you safely back to Colmar.

You’ll depart Strasbourg in the morning and make your first stop on this day-long tour in Colmar. Discover the charm of the old town, and visit the Pfister house, the Koïfhus, St. Martin’s Collegiate Church, and the picturesque neighborhoods of Little Venice. Explore the lovely village of Eguisheim, surrounded by vineyards. Admire its narrow streets, and the half-timbered houses with their colorful flowers.  Continue on to the fortified town of Riquewirh. Surrounded by ramparts, the village has survived wars and remained intact. See its tiny streets, fortified walls, and 16th-century houses, admiring the architectural harmony. You’ll have free time to explore the town and have lunch. After lunch you’ll follow the scenic Alsace Wine Route. Situated between the Rhine valley and the Vosges mountain range, the 60-year-old route winds across hilly slopes for over 170 kilometers. When you reach Haut Koenigsbourg Castle your guide will take you on a tour of the mighty fortress that overlooks the valley. Built during the 12th century, the Castle occupied a strategic position controlling the wine and wheat routes to the north and the salt route from the east.

Head south departing from Strasbourg where the first stop will be in Bergheim, a superb village on the wine route that contains many hidden wonders within its medieval walls. You will then have the opportunity to visit the charming town of Ribeauvillé, the ancient fief of the Lords of Ribeaupierre. History will call out to you on every one of its pedestrian streets.  After a visit to Hunawihr and a photo stop in front of its famous fountain, enjoy lunch in the village of Riquewihr, one of the best known in the region —  particularly renowned because of its idyllic location in the heart of the vineyard. The tour will continue to two villages that are equally famous for their historical character: Kaysersberg and Eguisheim. These two villages have been elected “Favorite Villages of the French", a famous French program celebrating the year of the French’s favorite villages. Kaysersberg won the edition in 2017 and Eguisheim in 2013. Head back to Strasbourg at the end of the afternoon, after a day filled with great memories and beautiful images.

Depart Colmar and journey in a small group to the traditional small town of Eguisheim. Surrounded by vineyards, the narrow and concentric streets highlight the architectural merits of its half-timbered houses, lovingly decorated with flowers. After a walk in the village, continue your tour to the fortified town of Riquewihr, passing by the village of Turckheim, where you can admire many traditional Alsace style houses, overflowing with flowers. In Riquewihr, stroll through the tiny streets lined with old houses that have preserved their 16th-century splendor. Get some free time to explore on your own and find a nice spot for lunch. Then, travel along the breathtaking Alsace wine route between the Rhine Valley and Vosges Mountains. Get amazing views of the undulating, vine-covered hills and quaint villages with narrow streets and flower-decked houses. Arrive at the medieval Château du Haut-Kœnigsbourg overlooking the valley. Learn how the castle once controlled the wine and wheat routes to the north and salt route from the east.

Begin your guided walking tour in Kaysersberg, a village famous for its quaint half-timbered, cobbled streets, and enjoy some free time here to explore by yourself. Then, follow the Alsace wine route and stop along the way for great photo opportunities. Arrive in Riquewihr for a guided walking tour of this magnificent small town. Surrounded by vineyards, this fortified town is a jewel. The village is full of beautifully-colored, half-timbered residences and facades decorated with old shop signs. Omnipresent flowers and creepers add to the charm of the village. From there, head to Hunawihr, the last stop and one of the most beautiful villages in France, known for its numerous artisan shops and multiple cultural landmarks.

On this festive 7-hour program you’ll depart Strasbourg in the morning, and head to the village of Colmar. Christmas in Colmar’s historic town center is a magical experience featuring Christmas illuminations that blend perfectly with the lighting designed to enhance the town’s heritage. The pedestrian city center with its major architectural treasures dates from the Middle Ages to the 19th century. It is beautifully decorated, creating a veritable open-air theater where the warm Christmas mood envelops the heart of the town. Enjoy some free time in the area to visit your choice of the 5 different Christmas markets. Then you’ll take a drive along the famous Alsace Wine Route, passing through some of the region’s most beautiful villages. The afternoon program will depend on the date of your tour. Eguisheim, Riquewihr (Medieval market), Colmar and Strasbourg cities host a market every single day. Depending on when you go, discover the Christmas Market of Bergheim or the Ribeauvillé market. Almost every single day of this festive season, the market of Kaysersberg will be ready to show you all it has to offer. After the market visits you’ll return to Strasbourg.
