Windsor Castle, Stonehenge, and Roman Baths Day Trip

2. Windsor Castle, Stonehenge, and Roman Baths Day Trip

Windsor Castle Over 900 years of royal history are waiting for you in Windsor Castle, which is perched high above the River Thames, just outside of London. From William the Conqueror to the current Queen, successive monarchs have lived here and left their mark on what is now the largest continuously occupied castle in the world. See for yourself the splendor of St. Georges chapel and the sumptuous state apartments. Windsor itself is a pretty town full of traditional shops and historic pubs. Shakespeare is said to have written his play, The Merry Wives of Windsor, in one of them!     Bath Bath, another world heritage site, is a beautiful Georgian city with delightful crescents, terraces, and architecture. Following a panoramic tour of the city, visit Bath Abbey and Pulteney Bridge, where the river Avon cascades over the weir. You can also shop, explore the area, or take an afternoon tea in the Pump Rooms while listening to the string quartet. You may choose to avail of the optional entrance to the Roman Baths that were built nearly 2,000 years ago. The magnificent Roman public bath complex and Roman temple were built on Britain's only natural hot water spring. Admire the ancient Roman statues and architecture as you walk around the steaming pool.  Stonehenge The most famous prehistoric monument in the world, and now a world heritage site, Stonehenge stands alone in the vast, empty tract of Salisbury plain. Its origins date back nearly 5,000 years. Since then, it has become a symbol for paganism, spiritual worship, and a topic of long standing public debate. Unlock the secrets for yourself and marvel at this mysterious feat of ancient engineering and design. Select the option with entrance included to gain access to the site.

Booked via the GetYourGuide website and tour was arranged by Premium Tours. Booking was smooth and on schedule. Our driver and tour guide was very good, kept us entertained and educated throughout the trip :). The coach was spacious and comfortable. We spent ~1.5 hours on Windsor, ~1 hour on Stonehenge and ~2.5 hours on Bath. There is not enough time to look around so I suggest bring your own food and drink and plan the places you want to go. There are so many places to see in Bath, if you want to explore it some more, I suggest booking this trip separately. But if you just want to see the major attractions, this package is fine. Overall, would definitely recommend this trip to my friends :)

Darren was a great guide. comfortable journey to and fro, lot of incredible information about the places we visited. really well planned trip and great spots. would highly recommend this trip to all

Darren was awesome!!! Really insightful and very kind person. Oxford campus was mostly closed due to a private event, but still plenty to do.

Experienced and responsible guide. I lost in a place and he waited for me 20 minutes patiently, guiding me and picked me up.

The guide was very good and was very patient with fellow travelers that were continuously tardy.
