Full description

Travel back in time as you explore the Mayan  archeological ruins of Chichén Itzá on a guided tour. Connect with nature as you swim in the azure waters of the cenote of Saamal. Eat a mouth-watering buffet lunch and take a guided walking tour of Valladolid.

Benefit from pick-up at your hotel, or a nearby meeting point, and then journey to one of the most important monuments on the Yucatán Peninsula.   Upon arrival at Chichén Itzá, look at the step pyramid of Kukulcan (El Castillo), known for the play of light from the equinox that casts shadows on each step to create an image of a serpent descending.   Go to the ancient cenote of Saamal and experience one of the sinkholes that form part of a network of underground rivers sacred to the Maya people. Enjoy a delicious buffet meal and take a stroll around the colonial city of Valladolid to complete your experience.

The trip is recommended despite the very long journey of 3 hours. The Mayan pyramids are very impressive and our guide Victor Manuel really knew every little detail. The cenote is beautiful and very refreshing after such a sunny stay at Chichen Itza. Here you have to pay another $9 for life jackets and lockers. The stop on the way back in Valladolid is unfortunately a bit short, you can only see the market square. There are such awesome waffles here! Included is a tequila and/or coffee tasting for free.

Miguel (Mike) was fantastic. This was the best experience I have had. Seriously. Chichen Itza was something special, truly wonderful and Mike gave detailed history which was neither boring nor unwanted. Amazing. Valladolid was an extra special touch, short but sweet and a lovely little visit to an old time town. BUT, the cenote, WAS INCREDIBLE. It blew me away. Paradise from a book or a film. Do this!

Really enjoyable experience would highly recommend for families or as a solo traveler. Our guide, Pastor was absolutely incredible and offered to help us take photos throughout the day. Only wish we had more time in the town of Valladolid as we only had about 20 minutes to walk around and shop. Be aware that if it is raining you won't be able to swim in the Cenote. Don't hesitate to book!
