Full description

Travel from Rome to Pompeii in an air-conditioned private bus, accompanied by an archaeologist guide. Benefit from skip-the-line entry and enjoy a guided tour of the ancient city. Throughout the ruins, come across a death cast, a plaster recreation of an unfortunate citizen preserved by the superheated volcanic ash. After visiting Pompeii, drive up the slope of Mt. Vesuvius, (from April to mid-November), one of Europe’s few active volcanoes located in the Vesuvius National Park. From here, take a short hike up to the steaming crater for stunning views of Capri and Sorrento. During the winter season between November and March, Mt. Vesuvius is closed, so your tour will follow the coastline and take you to the city of Naples. Explore the iconic Castle Nuovo, the famous art deco Umberto I Gallery, or simply wander around the monumental Plebiscito Square.

Excellent day trip. Absolutely loved it. Jocelyn our tour guide looked after us very well and ran a tight ship! it was a long day ( 7:30am start - got back around 20 : 30 ) but despite so much travelling the day was broken up niceley - with stops on the way to pompei and then another break on the way back from vesuvius. both parts of the tour were amazing - it would have been nice to have more time looking around pompei but on a tour like this with so much travelling time is always going to be of the essence. we also had a good hours lunch break and ate at a restaurant at pompei and the food was lovely. I'm really glad we booked this trip and throuroughly enjoyed it.

A truly unforgettable day. Was a bit apprehensive about the coach trip being long but our tour guide Anna was so knowledgeable and told us plenty of stories on our way there and back, about Pompeii and Italy in general which made it go by quickly. There’s also a 20 min stop at services each way The hike up Vesuvius was fairly easy (20 mins up, 20 mins down) but me and my partner are quite fit. They stagger you in groups through the entrance and prioritise the older groups so they have more time to climb. The views are breathtaking over the Bay of Naples and the crater is spectacular Upon arriving at Pompeii we were given an hour break for refreshments. Plenty of choice around for food and drinks. Paolo our tour guide was great fun and again very knowledgeable. My only negative is we were told we’d have 2 hours in there but only got about 90 mins. Considering we were told it would take days to do it all I thought we could’ve got 2 hours easily. Overall a great day and glad we did it

Angie was amazing. Knowledgeable, friendly, funny, patient and a great story teller. I'd love to go on another trip just to hear her talk. Antonio our driver was lovely. Lillia our guide at Pompeii was very informative. Although it was a long day we thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Rest stops were built in and it was possible to buy snacks at the stop. We were able to get lunch at Pompeii, very reasonably priced.
