Martinique: Authentic North Tour

1. Martinique: Authentic North Tour

Discover Martinique's impressive nature and beaches as well as its diversity of flavors on this tour. This excursion has a lot to offer including a guided visit to the Church of Balata, the ruins of Saint-Pierre, a unique adventure at a rum distillery, and a beach break. Your English-speaking guide will pick you up and give you a briefing about your day, as you climb aboard your comfortable air-conditioned transportation (in van or minibus for maximum 18 customers). You will be driven along the Caribbean coastal road. The first stop would be the Neisson Rum distillery located in Le Carbet. This family-owned distillery since 1931 has preserved the tradition of Martinique's rum. They are famous for their white rum and you will have the chance to see the rum process and have a taste. Afterwards, stop at Carbet Beach, with its transparent waters and black sand. Next, head to the ruins of Saint Pierre, once destroyed by the volcano. Take some pictures and admire the scenery of the majestic Mount Pelee. Then, continue following the Route de la Trace until you reach the Gendarme Waterfalls. Go on a very easy and short hike to arrive at the waterfall, once there you will be charmed not only by the tropical forest but also by the clear waters of the waterfall. You will also stop at the Alma River, you will see the abundant tropical rainforest. Finally, admire the Sacred Heart Church - also known as Balata Church - before you return to your starting location.

What people are saying about Saint-Pierre, Martinique

Our guide was easy to find and as announced at the port with a sign with my name on it. He gave a lot of interesting information during the tour. Unfortunately, the rum factory described in the tour was closed, so we had to make a stop in a larger factory, where many buses had a stop. As a result, we had a very long stay there. The stops on the beautiful beach and especially at the waterfall were very short. The focus of this tour was on the volcano and the destroyed city. The guide had very well informed about the volcanic eruption.

Guide Lisa was super. Driver was great and tour was comprehensive.... A tribute to Island. A great way to see lots of Martinique. Best shore excursion in a longtime. A must do!!

Great tour - and great tour guide. Gives a wonderful impression of the island - highly recommended.
