Each class will have a maximum of 15 people, and will be broken down further into tables of 2 to 4 people. You will be asked to fully partake in all the stages of the preparation. Activities such as marinating the apples and stretching out the pastry can be a lot of fun, and the whole experience of making the strudel is guaranteed to be as rewarding as enjoying the final outcome itself. While the apple strudel is in the oven, every class member will be invited to do their own Salzburger Nockerl. It is a local sweet and a must-have if you visit the town. In addition, it will be served a tasty goulasch soup which will be served before you get your own cooked creations. This impressive short tour runs from Mirabellplatz in the Andrae Quarter and over the State Bridge. Take in the baroque old town that was recognised as a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1996. Afterwards, the tour will continue on to Leopoldskron Castle and then back again. The absolute highlight of this tour is admiring the panoramic view of Salzburg. The 1965 musical The Sound of Music was a worldwide hit, using stunning settings that were as captivating as the storyline itself, and this tour gives you the chance to explore some of them first-hand. After breakfast at one of the film sites — the Leopoldskron Palace — you will see the gazebo in the gardens of Hellbrunn Palace, and take a tour of the actual Villa Trapp. The tour continues to the picturesque alpine village of Werfen, where you will follow in Maria’s footsteps on the Sound of Music hiking trail, where the famous opening scene was shot, with its breathtaking views. Afterwards, there is an optional lunch (35 Euros) at Obauer, one of the most exclusive restaurants in Europe, recognized as outstanding by the French Guide Gault Millau. After lunch, visit the spectacular Hohenwerfen Fortress, not only part of The Sound of Music but also a location in the 1968 film Where Eagles Dare, with Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood. The last part of the tour takes you via scenic mountain roads to Mondsee, to visit the cathedral where the romantic wedding in the movie was filmed - a perfect place to end a perfect day.
