Admire the Mullbach waterfall and the Bone House. Start the trip from Salzburg with a drive through the famous Salzkammergut en route to Hallstatt, known as the Pearl of the Salzkammergut. The route will take you through a number of charming villages, as you listen to an introduction to Hallstatt and the Salzkammergut. If you wish to do the Hallstatt Skywalk, the guide will collect the money for the ticket on the bus.  On arrival in Hallstatt, you might begin your visit with a mountain train ride up to the entrance of the world’s oldest salt mines (though the tour does not visit the mine itself), where you can admire the views down onto Hallstatt.  In Hallstatt you will have 2.5 hours to take in the sights. Enjoy a leisurely walk along the lake and marvel at how the houses above you seem to cling onto the mountainside. Pass by the Mullbach waterfall and visit the local museum. A must-see attraction is the Bone House behind the Catholic church, which will give you an interesting view into local family life (admission not included). You’ll then begin the return journey via Abtenau and Russbach to Gosau, where you’ll see the Gosau Lake and admire the views of the Dachtsein mountains.

Visit the locations used during the filming of The Sound of Music in Salzburg and its surrounding countryside. During the tour, you’ll also hear songs from the original soundtrack. Traveling with, Albus, the company involved with the original filming, you will be guided around The Mirabell Gardens – where the famous “Do-Re-Mi” singing scene took place – and the 17th-Century Hellbrunn Palace, where Rolf and Liesl sang "16 going on 17," and Maria and the Baron sang “Something Good.” Heading for the mountainous landscape of Salzkammergut, you will stop off at the idyllic Palace of Leopoldskron, the Benedictine monastery of Nonnberg Abbey, Lake Wolfgang, and the cloister church in Mondsee, where Maria walked down the aisle to meet the Baron at the altar. As well as providing a glimpse into a timeless movie, the tour also takes in many other local pieces of history and culture along the way.

This trip will take you through the picturesque foothills of the Bavarian Alps. You'll be able to see the enchanting Chiemsee, also called the "Bavarian Sea," which, with an area of nearly 80 km², is the largest lake in Bavaria. In Salzburg, the city of Mozart, you will have around 2.5 hours to see the city's impressive buildings, take in the vistas, and wander through the beautiful Baroque old town. Of particular note are, for example, the Hohensalzburg fortress and the birthplace of Mozart. The cathedral, Hellbrunn Palace, and the fountains are not to be missed. The old town offers many other worthwhile attractions, from fine boutiques and culinary delicacies to art, culture, and all else the heart could desire. The next part of the tour takes place in the summer only (from April until November): The tour will then take you onwards through the Salzkammergut to the Wolfgangsee. There you will have the chance to take a boat trip to St. Wolfgang, to the Hotel zum Weißen Rössl, and to visit the pilgrimage church. There is one more exciting highlight waiting for you on the return journey : a stop at the Mondsee, a location for the film "The Trapp Family." After being picked up from your hotel in or around Salzburg, take the 15-30 minute minivan transfer to the starting base. Listen to a short safety briefing which will explain everything you need to know about your canyoning tour. Get kitted out in a wetsuit, neoprene socks, helmet, and a harness.  Once everybody is ready to go, jump into a car and drive for about 8 minutes to the start of the canyon at a big dam. Climb down a short ladder into the canyon where you will reach the first of the jumps into the refreshing water. Start with some small jumps to warm up and learn how to jump and swim with your wetsuit and all your gear on. After some walking and small climbs, jump and swim through the spectacular landscape and rock formations.  Next, the guide will find some small natural slides for you to slip down. After a 1.5-hour tour, walk up a steep path back to the road where you will be picked up and returned to basecamp. Take advantage of the opportunity to change your clothes and enjoy a warm shower. Stop for a short drink and refreshment before being picked up and returned to your hotel in Salzburg.

Anthony was well versed in Sound of Music knowledge and the history of Salzburg. Saw shooting locations of the house, the gazebo, the lake, the trees that the kids climbed, and the church. Ended tour in Mirabella Gardens. Wonderful tour!!!! I would love to do it again!

The full day tour of Hallstat with skywalk was worth doing. It was well organized and everything went well. Dasha was an excellent guide, giving us lots of information. She made our travel lively by playing some music and folk songs.
