Communication was great! Easy transportation. Instructions say to wear swimsuit, but, really a pair of sport legging type shorts would be ideal. Highly recommended lightweight (dri fit) type clothing/shirt (no cotton). You will get fully submersed in the water. Wear old tennis shoes (& old socks) with good grip & plan to discard them or machine wash them due to the soupy rainforest mud. I wore a pair of closed to Keen hiking sandals w/ great grip & they were perfect! The guides were great & take pics & email them to you. You will leave everything on the bus during both excursions. Only brought a bottled water along on trail. No lunch provided, but they stop for smoothies on the way & have a great fruit spread (pineapple, papaya, mango, avocado) for a mid-day snack. Supper (you are responsible for the payment) is early (3:30/4) and was pretty good. Your guide will share a menu & get your order once you arrive to the rainforest. Rainforest portion was amazing! Kayaking was just ok. Enjoy

Wow what an amazing trip!! My boyfriend and I had such a wonderful time. The guides were such good people, they were kind and friendly and very knowledgeable! We felt very safe climbing the muddy boulders and brush of the rainforest with them guiding us! Yes, we got very muddy, but it was so worth it! They showed us the best places to jump in the water, and we even went down a natural water slide! Then, we went to a seaside town with a long street filled with food vendors! The tour showed us the best booths to get delicious mofungo and mojitors. It felt good to eat after our hike! The best part was the bioluminescent bay. We drove to the bay, and started kayaking through the mangrove trees until we got to a huge lake. It as so peaceful watching the sun fade. Once the light was all gone, that's when the magic happened! It was incredibly to see the little phytoplankton light up! I cannot recommend this experience enough, highly recommend!

For the first portion of the excursion (El Yunque Rainforest), Felix and JC were absolutely incredible and are the only reason why I would rate this 5 stars. They were very knowledgeable, friendly, encouraging, and fostered a familial environment. I would recommend them 10 times out of 10! They also provided unlimited bottles of water and snacks. I would not, however, recommend the Bio Bay Kayaking. I can't even remember our tour guides' names because they did not engage at all. Outside of providing instructions on how to kayak and what path we should follow, they did not talk to us. They mostly only spoke with each other on the walkie talkies and did not teach or show us much about the wildlife we had paid to see. The bioluminescence in Laguna Grande is not impressive - I would recommend 0 out of 10 times. If this is truly an experience you want to partake in, go to the islands of Vieques or Culebra.

I think people should knows this hike is NOT easy. We were exhausted after the hike and ended up skipping the kayak experience because of this. With that being said the hike was amazing. Our tour guide Felix was great and everyone made it back in tact. I highly recommend.

The rainforest tour was amazing! Don't be afraid to jump off the rocks into the water or off the rope swing. It's not as high as it appears lol. Be ready to get dirty, full of mud. It's worth it.
