Hua Hum Sightseeing Tour by Bus

4. Hua Hum Sightseeing Tour by Bus

This circuit borders the entire northern shore of Lake Lácar. We leave San Martín de los Andes to make a first viewpoint towards the city, to see all its extension. Surrounded by the Patagonian Andean forest, we pass by different mountainous landscapes such as Cerro Colorado, Piedra de Trompul, along with Lake Lacar, and then we pass by Lake Nonthué and Yuco beaches. We arrive at the border with Chile, where there are some small buildings from the beginning of the century, which are used by institutions such as Customs, Gendarmerie, there is also a house-museum of an old settler family, whose main income was the timber exploitation, until the creation of National Parks. This is the lowest pass of all the mountain range, because the vegetation changes and becomes lush and exuberant, with the Hua Hum river where in summer nautical activities such as rafting are carried out, and whose stream ends in the Pacific Ocean. After crossing this river we arrive at a resting place within the national park and also a starting point for a nice and quiet walk to the Chachin Waterfall, where we will have the opportunity to walk in this colorful vegetation formed by ferns, quivers, nalcas, and ancient trees.
