Situated between the sea and the mountains, the Penedès enjoys both the influence of the sun and the Mediterranean Sea, making it prime territory for winemaking. Make your way there on a luxury Mercedes SUV to visit 2 hand-picked family wineries. Make your first stop at a boutique winery that has been cultivating vines for over 2,000 years. Be welcomed by a winemaker who will show you its subterranean wine cellar. Learn fascinating facts about grape varieties, vine growing, winemaking and the optimal conditions for wine storage. Take the opportunity to taste 3 fine wines in a stylish tasting room, accompanied by an assortment of gourmet delicacies. 8. Barcelona: Wine & Sparkling wine Premium Tour

Departing from Julià Travel office in Estació del Nord, we will go to two of the most important wineries in Catalonia, where we will have the opportunity to discover how wine is made, its history and enjoy a wine tasting. Did you know that Catalonia is one of the most important wine-growing areas in Spain? It currently has eleven designations of origin. Vineyards have existed in Catalonia for more than 2,000 years and currently produce more than 380 million bottles a year, including sparkling wine, which represents the half of the production. The first stop will be at one of the most unique and attractive wineries in Europe. There, we will have the opportunity to understand how the winery has been built in a cave that is completely invisible from the outside. We will learn how the winery has been designed on different levels in order to facilitate gravity-fed vinification. We will enjoy a tasting of three wines paired with local cured meats. At the end of the visit, we will go to one of the most prestigious wineries in Catalonia: Llopart, a centenary winery where we will discover the sparkling wine, denomination of origin Corpinnat. Penedes Wine Cellar Visit with tasting from Barcelona

9. Penedes Wine Cellar Visit with tasting from Barcelona

From Barcelona, we will move to an important winery. In a comfortable bus, you will admire Spanish landscapes, and you will get a touch of how vineyards are planted. Wine culture in Spanish has a large tradition, even some archeologists think that the first vineyards were planted around 4.000 or 3.000 B.C. Thanks to the plenty of different types of grapes, people started creating wine culture and using it not only for their own consumption, but to start trading with it. We will visit an iconic winery in Cataluña, and on a guided tour, they will show us how they carry out their production, their facilities, their history, and everything in a walking tour through their plant. But this is not all! They will offer us a wine tasting, accompanied by some appetizers. The Spanish tradition of wine has a long history, but this area, Catalonia, has a special touch. You will learn about the varieties that grow here and you will understand the centuries-old tradition of wine in this part of Spain. After this experience, you will feel completely like a winemaker, having learned about its process, its importance in Spanish culture, and its great production that travels to many countries!

I cannot recommend this enough! For a few hours, we cycled 20 km through the Spanish countryside with a very knowledgeable and kind guide — I always felt safe and looked after properly. Afterwards, we went to a local winery and sampled three different cavas, each more different than the last. If you’re looking for something to do off the beaten path out of the city, this is for you!

Tour was great! I thought the guide was great, very knowledgeable. The tour of the winery was amazing as well. I had trouble with the train getting there, which resulted in a late arrival but we were still able to catch up with the group which I appreciated. I definitely recommend having a way to contact the guide in case the train runs late.

Excellent tour. Train was cancelled so had to Uber there. The only problem with this tour was getting there, but not fault of the tour. Excellent!

Must do when in Barcelona! Collin our guide was super interesting and velo was perfect! Would recommend it to anyone!

Very nice! Friendly guides and a nice trip. We really enjoyed!
