Full description

Your private tour starts from the northern part of Santorini island, where the spectacular villages of Oia, Firostefani and Imerovigli are located. You will experience the endless panoramic views of Caldera, Thirasia Island and the volcanic islands of Palea and Nea Kameni, and will also have the opportunity to take pictures of the typical white houses and blue domed churches. You will have the chance to visit the wine museum Koutsogiannopoulos, which is located within a natural cave. It is 8 meters below ground, 300 meter long and has a labyrinth-like shape. The wine museum presents the history of wine and the life of vine-growers in Santorini from 1660 to 1970. Here, visitors can learn about the history of wine, and at the end you will also be presented with the opportunity to taste a variety of 4 famous local wines. You will then make your way to the top of Prophet Ilias mountain, 1500 feet above sea level and with 360 degree views of the island and the Aegean Sea. Later on you will head towards the traditional settlement of Megalochori, where you can explore it walking through the traditional alleys and seeing the local houses and architecture. Your last 2 stops will be in the unique Red Beach which is full of red iron volcanic lava rocks. It is home to the famous 4-kilometer long black sand beach.

What a beautiful and magnificent day we had in Santorini. Everything was perfect. Our driver Arthur was extremely friendly and knowledgeable of the entire Island of Santorini and the history and country of Greece. Arthur spoke Excellant English and was so fun to have host us around the island. He called us in advance to confirm our reservations and to plan our day. Arthur was there to greet us at our agreed upon time and location (in fact he was there one hour prior to our agreed upon time). He set up and amazing lunch for us at the small fishing Village of Oia. The food was amazing, fresh and the service staff was warm and friendly. Arthur took us to several “secret and off the beaten path” look out’s where we had magnificent views of Santorini and the Greek Coast. We also visited the “Red Beach” and the “Black Beach” which were fun to see. On the highest point of Santorini is a monastery with magnificent views of the island. The van was spotless, comfortable and spacious!
