Scottsdale: Half-Day Lower Salt River Rafting Tour

1. Scottsdale: Half-Day Lower Salt River Rafting Tour

Get kitted out with all necessary equipment then head out onto the water.  The Salt River is a scenic, Class I (the easiest rating on the international scale of river difficulty) waterway which provides some of the best wildlife and bird watching opportunities in the Southwest. The water flow on the river varies seasonally, based on this your guide will choose from a number of put‐in/take‐out locations in order to ensure guests have the best river rafting experience. Whilst light paddling is required, your experienced rafting guide will do most of the work, so you can sit back and enjoy the view. Water temperatures are in the 60s in the winter and rise to low 80s in the summer months. Swimming is possible year‐round, but the water may be chilly in January. Tours typically last about 4 hours and water and snacks will be provided for the duration of the tour.

Super fun experience! Six of us went so each couple had our own UTV. Devo our guide was awesome. He would explain what’s ahead on each of the trails and gave us the opportunity to switch drivers and switch up the order of the UTVs so we all took turns eating each other’s dust. LOL. He also took lots of pictures for us. The dessert and 4 Peaks Mountain were absolutely spectacular. Highly recommend and well worth the money.

Having never hiked in the Southwest before, my hubby & I opted for a guided hike. Linda did a great job setting a comfortable pace and sharing her deep knowledge of the desert plants, animals and culture. The views were amazing and we walked away with so much more info than we would have had self-guided. I highly recommend this tour and wish we had more time for a second tour through this operator (REI). Thank you!!

Kimberly is the best guide! We had such an amazing time on this tour. Kimberly provided amazing info, was fun to talk to, and made us feel comfortable and safe.

Mark, the tour guide was excellent. Fun, frie, outgoing and knowledgeable. Made the day really fun. Would recommend this tour to anyone.

It was fun and 4 hrs was just right. The ability to follow the route on google maps on the phone was great.
