The trip was awesome! Matt picked us up at our hotel and you could tell it was going to be a good trip just by his enthusiasm. Thoroughly enjoyed the day. Train ride from Williams to Grand Canyon Village is not real exciting but the hosts were great, including Tater who serenaded our car. Matt picked us up again at GCV and took us to some spots along the south rim that were breathtaking. Matt was an excellent guide and provided a great experience. Ask for him if you can.

We were picked up from our hotel on time. Our guide had a lot of knowledge, however he talked really fast. I appreciated the occasional humor. I knew the view from the train would not be that interesting, but since I had a youngster with me that had never ridden a train I chose this tour. The train ride was just ok, but I thought there was going to be a bit more entertainment on the train. After getting off the train, our guide wisely suggested we get our lunch quickly so we would have more time to visit the viewing spots which were magnificent. He took group photos for those who wanted them. There was a ride through the Navajo reservation to the Cameron trading post. I took his suggestion and tried the Navajo fry bread which was fun to try. I would suggest that guides request that passengers in vans refrain from phone conversations. There were phone conversations on my trip that I found distracting when the guide was talking with one lady being quite loud.

We loved it! We were promptly picked up at our hotel. Our tour guide, Andrea was fabulous! She possessed a wealth of knowledge about the Grand Canyon and the surrounding area. She educated us and answered questions along the way. I think she’s secretly a Geologist with a side hustle :) Once we got to the train station, there was a cool western performance. After we boarded, some of the cowboys from the performance were on board. One of them did an acoustic guitar sing-along! Overall, best experience! Thank you for making this trip a memorable vacation.
