Full description
Begin your tour with a brief introduction of the Chapel of Saint Blas and then go to the audiovisual room, furnished with part of a Flemish tapestries collection made by the brothers Bernart and Christian van Bruston. The tapestries show the history of Pompeius Magnus. Also in the room is a video subtitled in English that goes through the construction of the tower and its history. This video display was renewed in 2019 and is projected over three big walls surprising visitors with 3D animations, images from inside the cathedral, and even more special effects for 8 minutes. After the video, head to the bell ringer’s house, a place preserved to reflect how the bell ringer and their family lived. There, a little staircase leads to the clock room, furnished with the rest of the Flemish tapestries and the clock mechanism, similar to that of the Puerta del Sol in Madrid. From the bell ringer's house head to the bell tower and climb its 190 steps to the top. Be rewarded with a scenic view from the highest lookout point of the city. The will tour conclude at the top of the bell tower.

I thought I had booked a tour that was in English, but when the tour started it was like 12 of us and the majority knew Spanish so the tour was in Spanish. I’m not sure if the guide didn’t know English or not. I was lucky that I knew Spanish to go along with the guide, but not so lucky for the other people who didn’t know. Everything that the guide explained was actually in English on the signs of the exhibit rooms. I would ask to make sure that the tour is in English if you don’t understand Spanish. Other than that after the tour you are able to explore the cathedral on your own.

We paid for a guided tour on English. The guide only spoke Spanish. I understand o need to learn the local language and working on it but even fully fluent, I think it would have been hard to understand him. But we paid for an English guide! When I asked, he got a bit surly and said the subtitles would be in English. That was one film of 15 minutes during an hour plus tour. Certainly did not need to pay for a guide.
