Madrid: Ribera del Duero Wine Route and Segovia Guided Tour

3. Madrid: Ribera del Duero Wine Route and Segovia Guided Tour

Early in the morning, you will leave Madrid and head towards the Ribera del Duero, located in the province of Valladolid. First stop will be at the Castle of Peñafiel, built from the 10th century onwards. You will be surprised by the shape of the castle, which will most probably remind you of a ship. The castle now houses the Provincial Wine Museum, where, accompanied by your guide, you can learn about the wealth of wine in the province of Valladolid, as well as its five designations of origin. The denomination of origin that stands out in this area is Ribera del Duero. For this reason, we cannot leave without visiting one of the most important wineries in Valladolid. We will have the opportunity to do a wine tasting accompanied by a tasting of local cheeses and cured meats, as well as learning more about the production of this typical product. Once we have finished our visit to the winery, we will get back on the bus to head towards Segovia, capital of the province of the same name, with its old town and old quarter, which were declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1985. We will take a walking tour where we will discover the most important monuments of the city, such as its imposing 16km long aqueduct, which is considered the most important work of Roman civil engineering in the Iberian Peninsula. During the walking tour, we will see the most important monuments of the city, such as the Cathedral, the Church of San Martín, the Casa de los Picos or the Alcázar of Segovia, a castle whose exterior architecture served as inspiration for some Walt Disney films, such as Cinderella's Castle or the Queen's Castle in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

The tapas tour was my first time in Madrid and took us to some traditional gems with interesting history and insights on the way. The group was very friendly, and now I have new friends! Our guide was so nice and explained very well. The flamenco was exceptional with a glass of wine. I really enjoyed the show. The tapas bars and the flamenco theater, the highlights of the tour. I highly recommend it.

The tour guide was the highlight of this tour, behind the amazing food. The guide was very kind and patient and was aware if you need any requirements to eat due to allergies and more. And at the end, we were able to enjoy a flamenco show, which was incredible and so funny. I recommend 100%
