Full description

Journey to one of the most meaningful tourist destinations in the world at the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) on the border of South and North Korea. Gain an understanding of Korean history and culture. First, visit Imjingak Park. See the Bridge of Freedom, used by prisoners of war who were repatriated from the North. Next, head to the 3rd Infiltration Tunnel, an incomplete passage built by North Korea that runs under the Demilitarized Zone. Discovered in 1978, the tunnel passes through bedrock 240 feet (73 m) below ground. You can go inside the tunnel on foot.

Once you're back on the surface, your guide will take you up the slopes of Mount Dora for a look across the country from the Dorasan Observatory. In good weather, you can see all the way to North Korea without using the observatory's telescope. Look out at the 2.4-mile (4-km) stretch of the DMZ that has divided Korea since 1953 before you return to Seoul.

I’m so so glad that I joined this tour while staying in Seoul for 설날!! Our guide, Jung, was absolutely lovely, really funny, and very enthusiastic. She was very knowledgeable and explained things very well. We were lucky to be able to travel through to the civilian control zone at the earliest possible time, and the weather was absolutely beautiful on the observatory, we didn’t even need the binoculars! The third tunnel was really interesting too, although it’s really a workout hahaha I was nervous because I was travelling alone, but I still had a lot of fun because Jung was so engaging. I also found the gift shops very reasonably priced and with lots of different options. They also sell North Korean bills at Imjingak Park, which I thought was really cool. Seriously, if you’re thinking about visiting the DMZ, I highly recommend this provider. Thank you Jung and team! <3

Our guide, Laura, was lovely and very informative. She explained things on the bus going from one place to another, as well as at each location. She was also very happy to answer questions. The tour went to the DMZ, the thurd tunnel and the Dora observatory. The joint security area was closed (which we knew before booking). The tunnel was interesting and we were amazed at how much we enjoyed the observatory. The tour left on time and we had enough time at each location. Overall it was a great tour.

We chose to be picked up at the hotel since our tour started early in the morning. Pick up time was exactly as planned. We joined a tour bus of a japanese group but our little group of 5 english speaking visitors had their own english speaking guide! She looked after us very well and explained all the sights. She always was available to any questions we might have had! Thank you for this great tour!
