This discovery tour by kayak is 3-hour guided tour which begins from the Bork outdoor center in Sesimbra Harbour. The tour travels through the Bay of Sesimbra, before also traveling along the beautiful coast of Arrabida Nature Park and Luiz de Saldanha Maritime Reserve. Your guide/instructor will help you find your way, as you explore the cliffs, caves, and other geological wonders during the tour. You’ll also have time to rest and enjoy a snack on Praia do Ribeiro do Cavalo, one of Portugal’s areas which contains crystal clear waters. You will then paddle back toward Sesimbra Harbour, where your tour began. Discover the wonders of the Sesimbra in the heart of Arrábida Natural Park on this guided trip. Explore the water by kayak and stop at the Ribeiro do Cavalo Beach for a picnic and some relaxation in the sun. Choose between pickup from Lisbon or meeting directly in the ancient village of Sesimbra (about a 45-minute drive from Lisbon). Once in Sesimbra, hop in a kayak (double sit on top kayaks) to go into the ocean. Sesimbra is located in the heart of Arrábida Natural Park and has the most beautiful landscape in the region, filled with limestone cliffs, grouts, passages in between rock formations, and a beach to enjoy a break and soak in the sun. The first leg on the Kayak from the starting point is about 1.5-hours of paddling until you reach Ribeiro do Cavalo Beach. Enjoy a picnic break where you can admire the landscape in a relaxed way. Options are available if you have food allergies or other restrictions (a message will be sent with extra info about the food and with extra info before the start of the trip). The second leg on the kayaks will bring you back to the starting point. The journey in general is a bit faster as you'll have some wind helping you on the return route. If you chose pickup, get driven back to Lisbon for drop-off.

We will also take you on a visit to truly singular places such as Gruta do Frade, an extraordinary cave 340 meters long and 40 meters wide. Inside this magnificent geological complex, you can find several galleries and observe the stalactite and stalagmite formations with hundreds of years, carefully preserved to this day. Your adventure will start on the south side of the Lagoon with a meeting point at Meira Pro Center (Escola Rui Meira) where you will be able to change into a wetsuit or swimsuit before the start of our trip on the Kayaks. Don't rush, relax and enjoy a coffee while we present you the beautiful "Lagoa de Albufeira" where kings of Portugal used to spend time relaxing while fishing on these same waters. You will receive a briefing on safety and how to use the Kayak equipment (life vest is mandatory) and its technics and off we go into the water. These water are super calm and the majority of the Lagoon is shallow making this location ideal for beginners and families with younger children. The tour will be circular following the shoreline of the beach towards the north side of the Lagoon which is hard to access and therefor almost empty even during the summer months. There will be time to stop on beach once we are on the north side of the Lagoon where snacks will be provided along with a relaxed time on the beach. This Lagoon is connect to the Atlantic ocean making it very unique and clean so a visit here is a must. The ones that love colder water will be able to enjoy a swim in the ocean as a stop will be made on the ocean beach for you to enjoy the point of view of our great bay stretching from Cabo Espichel on the south, all the way to Costa da Caparica on the north. Our trip will take around 3 hours in total with an easy pace and breaks in between. Fruits, water and a typical fisherman cake are included and well as beach towels and water resistant bags for you to transport any additional belongings.
