Early In the morning at 8.30am, you will be picked up from your centrally located Shanghai hotel by the driver, and drive about 1.5 hours to Suzhou to start your day tour. Note we will inform you if your hotel is too far to pick up from city downtown in Shanghai. Suzhou was the capital of Wu culture 800 years ago and is one of China's leading historic cities. Developing around the Grand Canal that forged much of China's traditional north-south commerce Suzhou is built around a series of canals. Now a modern thriving city, Suzhou maintains a traditional core surrounded by a moat and is world-famous as a UNESCO world heritage site for its traditional Chinese gardens. Upon arrival, you will be met by your local guide in Suzhou. You will visit one of China's most exquisite gardens, The Humble Administrator's Garden, a Cultural Heritage site including both a residential quarter and a delicately landscaped garden. You will learn the beauty of the well-known Suzhou Garden while wandering around the pavilions, bridges, houses, etc. in the garden. After lunch at a local restaurant, you will be transferred to Shantang Street which is a good example of a water town in Southern China with well-preserved traditional architecture. You can wander around the old street to view the Opera Stage, Boat Museum, etc. Then you will take a boat on the Grand Canal for about 40 minutes to view the scenery. Then you will be moved to the Suzhou Silk Museum which exhibits the history of Chinese Silk from ancient times to modern times. Afterward, you will be transferred back to your centrally located Shanghai hotel where the tour concludes.

Meet your Shanghai local driver in your hotel lobby (will confirm the departure time and train ticket once you confirm the tour, we will discuss more details via email or whatsapp), transfer to Shanghai Hongqiao high speed train station, you will get the paper round train tickets from the driver and catch the morning high speed train to Hangzhou. Keep your tickets in hand as it might be checked again during the journey or at Hangzhou train station's exit. Your first stop is West Lake - it is the most renowned feature of Hangzhou, noted for the scenic beauty, attracts tourists from all over the world. Wandering along the lake, enjoy the breathtaking scenery - pavilions, pagodas and embankments, etc and hear a folk fairy tale - Legend of White Snake from your guide. Then you can choose the West Lake cruise or the small boat on the lake, spend your leisure time there.  Afterwards, go to visit the Fish Viewing at the Flower Pond (HuaGang Park), you can have nice fish viewing there. It is one of the ten scenes of West Lake, you can not miss it. Second stop will be Longjing tea fields. Chinese green tea is renowned Longjing green tea farm, where you'll be treated a local lunch paired with tea tasting. Wondering in the beautiful tea plantations, walk through the lush greenery and learn how the intricate process of tea cultivation from knowledgeable locals and private guide translation. Head to the last destination - Lingyin Temple or Huxueyan Former Residence. Lingyin Temple is located in the Feilaifeng scenic spot. Which is one of the top ten most famous ancient Buddhist monasteries in China, also one of the largest and wealthiest Buddhist temples in China, and contains numerous pagodas and Buddhist grottoes. On the way to the temple, there are a large number of grottos and religious rock carvings. Huxueyan is a famouse merchants duiring Qing dynasty, you will get to know his legendary life in business. After finishing your tour in Hangzhou, you are transferred back to Hangzhou east railway station. Then take the high-speed train around 17:00pm - 18:00pm back to Shanghai. Upon arrival in Shanghai, we will arrange a Chinese speaking driver to meet you at Shanghai Hongqiao railway station (South exit) and transfer back to your downtown hotel in Shanghai to finish the entire trip.
