It took about 38 years to finish and was so magnificent that it set a precedent for future feudal rulers. Little compares to his army of Terracotta Warriors and Horses. Wander the gallery to marvel at some 8,000 life-size sculptures of men and horses of the Emperor’s funerary art. Amazingly, each one has unique features. After hotel pick–up at 9:00 AM, transfer to visit the Hanging Temple, a temple built into a cliff 75 meters above the ground near Datong City. Discover the temple, built more than 1500 years ago, and marvel at its massive size. Find out more about the only existing temple to combine three Chinese traditional religions: Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism. Enjoy your lunch in local restaurant before you move on to the Yungang Grottoes, one of the three most famous ancient Buddhist sculptural sites of China. Take in this outstanding example of the Chinese stone carvings from the 5th and 6th centuries. See the 53 major caves, along with 51000 niches housing the same number of Buddha statues. Find out how the grottoes were excavated in the south face of a sandstone cliff. In 2001, the Yungang Grottoes were made a UNESCO World Heritage Site. At the end of the tour, return to your hotel in Datong.

Your tour guide will greet you at your downtown Xi'an hotel lobby between 1:00 and 1:30 p.m. and then drive you to visit "the eighth major miracle of the world" - Terracotta Warriors and Horses. One of the top ten places of historical interest in China was listed as a world heritage by UNESCO about a decade ago including pits 1, 2, and 3. All the soldier and horse figures in the pits were buried there to guard Emperor Qinshihuang. It will take you about 2.5 hours inside the museum. Then, you will be transferred back to Xi'an downtown to enjoy a feast of Chinese dumplings banquet. Nearly 20 varieties are made and inside the dumplings are stuffed with delicious vegetables, meats, and seafood. The famous restaurant Dumplings' Legend offers an original approach to Chinese food that merges the familiar comfort food of London's Chinatown with the culinary heritage of regional Chinese cuisine. The banquet is only the prelude to another feast for your entertainment. You will experience the local colorful and splendid Tang Dynasty Dance Show, a performance of music and dance that imitated the Tang Dynasty over one thousand years ago. It seems as if you are living in the palace of the Tang Dynasty. After that, the driver will transfer you back to your hotel in Xi'an.

This group tour starts from the pickup from your hotel lobby around 8 am-9 am. And then we will directly transfer eastward for Terracotta Warriors. We will drive back to the city area to visit the Ancient City Wall. Xian City Wall is the most complete city wall that has survived in China. It is also the largest and most complete ancient military system of defense in the world. You can choose to have a circle on the City Wall (The bicycle renting fee is on your own). The last stop of the tour is the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, a well-preserved ancient building and a holy place for Buddhists. It was built to hold sutras and figurines of the Buddha that were brought to China from India by the Buddhist translator and traveler Xuanzang. After the all-day tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel in the Xi'an city area.

Later enjoy a leisure night sightseeing around the Bell Tower & Drum Tower Square and the Muslim Quarter which is packed with various stalls of local authentic food and snacks. Entertain your taste bud with iconic Shaanxi food like authentic snacks including biangbiang noodles, ice peak (a kind of drink), soup dumplings, mirror cake, sour plum soup, dried persimmon etc., and purchase some antiques, artworks, Terracotta Warrior imitations, etc. as souvenirs. After all the activities, we will take you back to your hotel. It is a famous Buddhist temple which holds the genuine relics of Gautama Buddha (Sakyamuni). Patronized by 8 emperors in the Tang Dynasty, this temple has become one of the four most sacred Buddhist sanctuaries in China.
