Spend a morning in Taormina learning how to cook delicious Sicilian food from a professional chef. At the end of the class, participants enjoy the lunch they created along with wine. Meeting at 10:00 AM at the Arch of Porta Messina, the activity starts with a guided tour of the market of Taormina. Shopping for fresh ingredients, the group will enjoy learning about the local products. Back at the restaurant the chef will explain the recipes in program while guests take a break for coffee. The preparation and the cooking of the food will then start, with the making of hand-made pasta a highlight. Once the dishes are prepared, everybody is invited to the table for the typical local lunch with accompanying wines. Afterwards, each participant will receive a certificate and an autographed apron as a souvenir of this special day.  

First stop will be Zafferana Etnea, where the guide will help you discover the beauty of the town, passing through areas lapped by different lava fronts. Zafferana is considered the honey capital of Sicily. Enjoy the opportunity to taste honey and other typical products, including extra virgin olive oil with a tasting tour to appreciate their qualities. Next, you will move on to an Etna winery where you will meet an expert sommelier who will introduce you to some local wines. Learn the story behind the production of each bottle, from pruning to harvesting. Finally, led by the sommelier, you will have the opportunity to taste six different wines, not only from Mount Etna. At lunchtime, you will then visit the second winery, where you will enjoy a full lunch with antipasto, primo, and secondo, expertly paired with 3 Etna Doc wines (one white and two reds). After lunch you will visit the vineyards. Expert oenologists and/or sommeliers will take you behind the scenes of Etna's wine world, before returning to Catania in the early evening.

See the wine cellar and learn about the production of Sicilian wine, before trying three different types of Marsala wine paired with local food delicacies. Meet at Cantine Florio and take in the winery's amazing views over the Mediterranean Sea. Tour the entire facility, including the specially-designed cellars. Learn about the tufa flooring system which allows the wine barrels to breathe in the sea air and take on a unique flavor. Hear about the weather conditions of the region and how they affect the different wine variations, before tasting three different Marsala wines paired with Sicilian snacks.

Explore the wines of Sicily on a half-day tour of the picturesque Madonie Mountains, the 2nd natural reserve established on the island. You will go to the prettiest of all the hilltop towns and villages on a scenic tour to Castelbuono. Famous for the 14th-century Arab-Norman castle, built during the Hohenstaufen rule of southern Italy, the church is also home to the holy relic of Sant’ Anna. Take a stroll through the town center, with breathtaking views all the way. Next, visit the gold medal, award-winning Abbazia Sant’Anastasia winery to taste some of their selected organic wines, served with typical appetizers of the region. Take a tour of the wine cellar, and savor the oak smells of the handcrafted barriques (barrels).

Hear about the old food traditions of Sicily on a 2.5-hour walking tour of Taormina. Meet local chefs and food heroes at 3 different venues and immerse yourself in the food scene. Try fresh seafood such as pepata di cozze (mussels in sauce) or alici alla beccafico con pesto trapanese (filled anchovies with pesto) paired with white wines from the region. The 30km road is one of the most evocative routes in Italy, and if you get out of your vehicle, you'll be able to feel the salt in the air! Learn about the intricacies of the barrel cellars followed by a Marsala and Zibibbo wine tasting accompanied by light food pairings. Upon arrival at the Florio Winery, start your tour with a visit to the wineries overlooking the sea. Just by walking among the barrel cellars, you'll discover the history of Marsala wine and the winery that produces it. The grapes used to produce Marsala grow along the coast of Western Sicily, and the wine's goodness is fueled by the humid, brackish temperature.
