10. Siem Reap: Angkor Wat 2-Day Guided Cycle Tour With Lunch
Day 1:
Get picked up from your hotel by a tuk-tuk in the morning at 7:45 am, driving to meet your tour guide. Receive detailed instructions on how to ride your bicycle when you arrive.
Begin your bike tour at the illustrious Ta Prohm Temple, with overgrowing jungle trees and vines. It’s known as the Tomb Raider Temple, as it was used as a filming location in the movie.
Continue to the ancient city of Angkor Thom and enter through the stone gate, carved with elephants. Stop at the Bayon Temple, richly decorated in Buddhist history, and see the historical landmarks of the Terrace of Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King.
Take a break for lunch at a local restaurant to indulge in traditional, Cambodian delicacies. After lunch, follow your guide, listening to stories as you cycle to the UNESCO World Heritage Listed Angkor Wat, the most famed of all Cambodia’s temples. Return to your hotel for the next day’s trip.
Day 2:
Enjoy pickup from your hotel in the morning at 7:30 am and drive to the cycling shop. Get back on your bike as you cycle through backroads, across rice fields and farms, and into small villages with your guide, to experience what life is like for the locals.
Taste local fruit and snacks as you stop at the local market, mushroom and lotus farms, and places where rice wine is distilled. Admire the village handicrafts and Buddhist temples, before you return to the bike shop and get dropped off back at your hotel.
