    Have an out-of-this-world adventure while drysuit snorkeling in Silfra rift, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Thingvellir National Park. The hidden natural wonder has 100 meters of underwater visibility with bright colors that make the experience almost unrealistic.

    Meet your guide and group directly at the site in Silfra and prepare to travel between two continents in the rift. Be guided through magnificent scenery and view Silfra from the surface while the slow current carries you through the stunning underwater landscape.

    Stay dry underneath your drysuit or, for the more adventurous, choose the wetsuit to feel the natural cool waters.

    Snorkel through the pure and clean waters of Silfra and end the tour in a lagoon often called "the real blue lagoon" because of the bright blue color of its water.

    The meeting point is Silfra parking lot in Thingvellir National Park. Park your car at “Thingvellir P5” and walk 400 yards back along the road until you reach a smaller parking lot with all the snorkel and dive vans.

    Know before you go

    • Be at minimum 45kg (99 lbs) / maximum 120kg (264 lbs)
    • Be at minimum 145cm (4’9) tall / maximum 200cm (6’7) tall
    • Glasses not allowed. Contacts lenses required or, if you own one, a prescription diving mask.
    • You must be able to swim
    • You don't need to be certified diver, this tour is for everyone who feels comfortable in the water
    • If pregnant, you are not allowed on this tour
    • Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult
    • Warm undergarment clothing is advised (fleece/wool sweater, pants and thick socks)
    • Suitable clothes for the weather of the day
    • Additional things to bring: towel, lunch or snack, camera

    Our guides were personably, educational, and amusing. They made the preparatory process (it takes a bit of time to put 12 people in dry suits!) fun. I'm very glad we had this experience. We also got bumped from our 10am to the 9am slot and were the first group in the water! So I was thankful for that and recommended early morning as the time to go :)

    This was an awesome once in a lifetime experience! Our guides Vero and Chico were terrific and very patient getting us ready and while in the water. The water is COLD but it's worth the chill and effort to suite up. The tour offers a warm place to put on gear and store your stuff. An added plus to end with hot coco. This tour is well organized and executed. I would highly recommend it.

    Amazing experience. I think we were a bit mad to do this in January though. The dry suit goes over your clothes so you stay completely dry. It’s only your hands a bit of your face that gets wet. It’s cold but you adjust. Our guide was Chico and couldn’t recommend him enough. He was incredibly supportive and patient with me as I was a really slow swimmer. When I became too tired to swim further, he swam with me until the end. The hot chocolate at the end was so needed too and yummy! Pics are also taken underwater.
