Barcelona: Day Trip to Montserrat, Sitges & Jean Leon Winery

1. Barcelona: Day Trip to Montserrat, Sitges & Jean Leon Winery

Transfer by air-conditioned bus to the Montserrat Mountains to visit the Royal Basilica of Montserrat and see its 12th-century Romanesque carving of the Verge Moreneta (“Black Madonna”). Marvel at the Benedictine sanctuary, founded in 1025 as a mystical backdrop for the Virgin of Montserrat, the patron saint of Catalonia. Following a guided tour, you then have some free time to enjoy the fabulous landscape by yourself, to visit the local food market and the audiovisual exhibition, and to taste some liqueurs. Afterward, visit the prestigious Jean Leon wineries. Come and enjoy this unique enclave with its movie-worthy history and exclusive wines that will win over even the most selective palates. Drive then to Sitges, one of the most beautiful villages on the Catalonia coast where a guided tour will take place with some free time at the end.

What people are saying about Sitges

An entire day of fabulous sights!

All aspects of this tour were exceptional. Julia Travel in Barcelona provided a great guide in Joanna (name?) Torres Winery was beautiful and the tour there was interesting and informative. The tastings were well led and the sommelier was knowledgeable and personable, explaining the tasting process in ways that even a first-time taster could understand and appreciate. Montserrat was naturally impressive and we were given a guided tour as well as free time to explore on our own. There are plenty of options available to pass the time in Montserrat - make sure to bring a good pair of walking shoes if you are interested in doing some of the mountainside hikes. There are a lot of elevation changes so be prepared to sweat if you walk. If hiking is not your thing, there are funiculars that transport you both up and down the mountain so you can explore the site without much effort. Sitges was a charming seaside town with plenty to see and do. I highly recommend this tour.

perfect day

My family and I really enjoyed the day trip to Monserrat, Torres Wineries, and Sitges. The bus was comfortable, the group wasn't too big, and our guide was great. There was enough free time in Monserrat and Sitges for us to see everything we wanted to. It was very well organized, we're happy we decided to book the tour.

An excellent visit! And a very good guide (Vanessa).

Maybe place Sitges before Torres. Because it’s very warm and after the wine in Torres we don’t have a lot of energy. And ask to the guy at Torres to be more “human”. He talked like a robot who learned his speech by hart.

an amazing tour

What a great tour. Montserrat is one of the great place you have to see in your life. Torres is a must for all wine lover. And you finished you trip at Sitges on the water :-) Don't hesited to try this tour.

Beautiful day great guide.
