From Reykjavik: Northern Lights Guided Tour with Photo Shoot

1. From Reykjavik: Northern Lights Guided Tour with Photo Shoot

Join this 16 people maximum tour, You will be picked up from either your hotel, guesthouse or bus stop starting 30 minutes before departure time (Please allow a thirty-minute window for everyone to be picked up) The journey will take us outside of the city limits away from any light pollution as the Northern Lights are harder to see from Reykjavík. To which location it is hard to say, it will depend on the cloud coverage and activity in the evening. The drive will be kept as short as possible and you might stop at several locations as the lights can be quite elusive and often it will be a waiting game for this beautiful phenomenon, which might be perfect while your guide sets up his camera for the free photoshoot of your group. On this journey we are going to offer you blankets, hot chocolate, and snacks.

Reykjavik: 2-Day West Tour to Snæfellsnes and City Fjord

2. Reykjavik: 2-Day West Tour to Snæfellsnes and City Fjord

After being picked up in Reykjavik, your tour begins by driving on the scenic route 1 to the friendly town of Borgarnes. From there, the course is set to the Borgarfjodur area, where you will visit the unique Lava Waterfalls called Hraunfossar and nearby Barnafossar waterfalls. This day will take you also to the Glanni Watefall, Deildartunguhver - the most powerful hot spring in Europe and to Reykholt historic site. Last stop will be at Husafell - the woodland oasis. From there you will go on your adventure of choice. You can either go inside the biggest Lava Cave in Iceland called Vidgelmir or go on 4WD adventure to visit relaxing Canyon Baths, stopping on the way to soak in the view of two-tiered Langifoss Watefall. You will then spend the night in Borgarnes - the capital of West Iceland sitting in the fjord. You will find there charming coffee houses and restaurants, as well as turf houses. The Northern Lights are also famous for playing their incredible symphony of lights in this area if the conditions are favorable. On the second day, your journey continues to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, where you will enjoy watching seals play on the beach and take in some amazing sights at the many beautiful creations of nature in the area. The Snæfellsnesjökull glacier looms mysterious and magical as your tour continues around the peninsula, and you will also have a chance to admire the beautiful and photogenic mountain of Kirkjufell. Snæfellsnes is also home to the big seal colony that you will have a chance to see at Ytri-Tunga Beach.

The name of the tour can be misunderstanding

The tour itself is named "2 days Snæfellsnestour" . What did I expect was to be picked up and stay with those people who were with me in the bus all the time . It wasn't like that. It turned out I was the only one who booked a 2 days tour... all the others (we where about 8 people I think) only booked a one day tour. So at the end of the trip they went back to Reykjavik while I was dropped off at a Hotel in Borgarnes. I mean I got my own room (It said there will be double rooms) But since I was the only one staying there from this tour it was awkward to sit alone in the lobby and eat dinner and also breakfast on the next day alone ... The next day I got picked up by another guide and I met another group of people. The people were nice and awsome at boths tours and I made friends on boths days. However I wasn't happy to be the only one who stayed (without knowing anyone) at the hotel and it was impossible to get in touch cuz there were only families and friends staying there together

Very relaxing

The 1st day was very relaxing, even a little bit boring. Maybe more suitable for elder people or whole family. The 2nd day was a bit more intense. We did some hicking, but not for long. Our guid Cristina was super nice and cheerful. Overall I enjoyed my trip and would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for something less intense.

The trip was excellent. The tour provider’s bus is comfortable and with wifi. The tour guide/driver, JK, gave good commentaries about the places that were visited. The time spent on each location is ample enough for enjoyment and observation.

Our 2 day tour was amazing! Both guides were excellent and full of information and found additional sites for quick stops when possible. Highly recommend!!

Great tour with great guide Ingo! Particularly in a storm, a solid rock.
