Learn about the history and traditions of winemaking in the region from your expert guide and taste wines from 3 wineries. Your adventure begins with a pick-up from your hotel/accommodation in downtown San Francisco. Get to know your travel companions for the day as you head out of town and across the Golden Gate Bridge. Learn about the region from your friendly and knowledgeable guide and sample many of the delicious wines that have made Northern California a world-renowned wine-producing region. Travel with a small group (limited to 13 people) to three of Sonoma's finest boutique wineries and spend approximately one hour at each winery. This journey also includes a stop in scenic Sausalito, a stop at the Golden Gate Bridge, and a lunch stop (lunch not included) in the historic town of Sonoma where you can select from one of the many fantastic restaurants on the square. If you’re feeling adventurous, take a walk into the past at Mission San Francisco Solano. After the final winery stop of the day, relax as your guide drives you back to your accommodation in San Francisco.

In just half a day, discover the best of Sonoma County, California’s famous wine county, on this guided group tour from San Francisco. Taste the best wines of the region, enjoy the Sonoma Valley scenery, and learn about the county’s history. Starting with pickup in San Francisco, cross the Golden Gate Bridge where the San Francisco Bay meets the Pacific Ocean and stop at the Marin County Vista Point for magnificent views. From the vista point, see the Golden Gate Bridge, Angel Island, Alcatraz Island, the East Bay cities of Oakland and Berkeley (home of the first UC campus), and the Bay Bridge which connects them to San Francisco. Continue the journey by passing above the hillside houses and yacht marinas of Sausalito and traveling north through the rolling hills of Marin County. Just 35 minutes from the bridge begins beautiful Sonoma Valley, the site of the first winery of California. Today, Sonoma Valley is a world-famous producer of fine wines, cheeses, and olive oils. Visit two wineries (typically one small, one large) chosen by your knowledgeable guides with your enjoyment and the diversity of wines in mind. Enjoy an included tasting at one of the two wineries and an optional second tasting at the other. Lunch is available for purchase at a winery or during a visit to downtown Sonoma Plaza, a park surrounded by historic buildings including the last Franciscan Mission, restaurants, cafes, shops, and wine tasting rooms. This experience concludes with drop-off back to your hotel.

Join a group of no more than 8 guests and experience the flavors of Sonoma County. Depending on the day, the tour takes you to Alexander Valley, Dry Creek Valley, Russian River Valley, or Sonoma Valley and no two days are quite the same.  Visit both large production and small boutique wineries and at some, you will have the opportunity to meet the owners and tour the production facilities. During the tour, take a short break to enjoy some cheese, crackers, salami, and fruit. Bottled water will be plentiful to keep you hydrated. Tasting fees charged by the wineries are not included in this tour. Tasting fees can range from $15.00 to $25.00, depending on the winery. Most wineries will waive fees if you purchase a bottle or two or join their wine club. The goal of this tour is to introduce you to different Sonoma County Wines and to wineries you may not be familiar with. If you are concerned about getting your wine home, we will be happy to assist you by making shipping arrangements. At the end of the tour, hotel drop-off will be provided.

Marc went over and above to get to know the travelers and provide great service, making extra bathroom stops, drop offs, and even side trips to show us sites. He was full of knowledge about the history behind the wine industry. We really enjoyed the group and the wineries we visited. The transportation was very comfortable and safe.
