Overall, the tour was good. The guide was very well spoken and knowledgeable. He made sure we were comfortable the whole time. My only disappointment is, I wish it was mentioned on the tour description that we were going to visit a kindergarten in Soweto. We were handed with another tour guide in soweto to walk around for about 15mins and he told us that if we would like to give a little token to the school kids then there is a mini store in front where we ended the walking tour. To be honest, I would love to except that this store robbed you on your face, pricing a 20-30pieces small bag of chips for 180rand (11usd). I bought it anyway since there were not much choice and I really wanted to give something. If only they mentioned this part of the itinerary, then I would have bought from the grocery before going to the tour.

It took a visit from our grandson who lives overseas to ignite our interest in taking this half day tour of Soweto, and we were most impressed by it. A huge advantage was that we were fetched from our residence and taken back home. I was impressed at the level of communication from the organisers. our guide, Michael, was friendly, engaging and knowledgeable. We felt that we had an authentic experience, and in all, thoroughly enjoyed the morning.

Very interesting experience, we got to know many things about Soweto. The only thing i did not like was visiting the inside of the peoples homes. The way they live is so poor and in some way invading their privacy seems to me just morbid. I would suggest not doing it.
