Explore the “village of the oaks" with its shady oak avenues bordered by the water furrows of the Mill Stream. Admire the charm and harmony of the Cape Dutch Architecture and listen to tales about the colorful inhabitants across the four centuries of the town’s existence. Discover where Simon van der Stel, the town’s colonial founder, set up camp on the Eerste River, and where the river got its name. Perhaps you'll meet an angel at the "Angel Factory," or a ghost in the graveyard of the ”Moederkerk.” Amble The Braak, or village green, with its historical buildings surrounding it on 3 sides, and Dorp Street, the oldest residential street in South Africa. I had the pleasure to join Juliana on her guided tour through Stellenbosch. The tour was just perfect and Juliana a wonderful guide and hostess. I enjoyed the walk very much (although it was pouring) and could learn from Juliana's huge knowledge and expertise. I highly recommend to explore Stellenbosch with a guided walking tour. A huge thank you and hope to be back some times.

I live in Hermanus 50 minutes drive to Stellingboush. So I passed through it often without taking time out to know about the university town. We took a waking tour and we were totally taken aback about the town and its history. The guide was excellent and we have been back to visit And we have friends/visitors take a walking tour and they really appreciate the second city of the Western Cape
