You will be taken on a journey through time as we visit some of the most significant Viking sites in the region. If possible you will be picked up at your hotel or by a nearby location. For you who are staying outside the center, pickup will be at Radisson Waterfront hotel close to the Central Railway station. Our tour begins in Stockholm county, where we will visit the Viking Age landmark of Jarla Banke Bridge, Arkils Tingstad including some runestones from the late Viking era. The following stop will be at Vallentuna church, which open up 1198 AD, shortly after the Viking age. We continue to a popular stop on the tour at Granby farm, where a fika will be served (swedish coffee with pastries). We continue to the charming town of Sigtuna, which was founded in the late 10th century and is one of Sweden's oldest towns. Here, we'll explore the ruins of Saint Olaf church, the norwegian Viking warrior, who later converted to christianity and finally became an Saint. We'll also have time to wander through the town's picturesque streets and browse its many shops and cafes. Next, we'll head to Uppsala, where we'll visit the famous Gamla Uppsala burial mounds. These mounds date back to the 5th and 6th centuries and are believed to be the final resting place of Viking kings and heroes. You'll hear stories about the legends buried here and the history of the Viking society that built these impressive structures. Gamla Uppsala was also the spiritual center of the Vikings in Scandinavia and there they gather together for Midwinter blot festivals. The way to the museum was a bit tricky since there was a construction side that blocked our way there, so we had to walk all the around. The museum itself was a great experience.

The tour guide, Callum, was absolutely amazing. Such a character that made it a totally immersive experience. Couldn’t take my eyes or ears off him! Such amazing stories to tell.
