Western Table to Maclears Beacon return: A 2-hour easy to moderate hike on the Table Mountain Plateau. Your guide will organize tickets and then proceed with you up Table Mountain in the aerial cableway. The cableway can carry up to 60 people at a time and does a full rotation. This means you can enjoy 360 degree views of Cape Town, Lions Head and the Mountain itself. Once on top, you will get away from the groups and meander along to Maclears Beacon, the highest point on Table Mountain. This pleasant walk across the flat-topped Table plateau overlooking the city passes through some marshy frog breeding areas with interesting vegetation. Twelve Apostles to the Table Mountain Plateau: A 5-hour moderate climb: The climb up Kasteelspoort zigzags its way up a partly shaded gorge beneath the overhanging walls of Spring Buttress. Climbers are rewarded with views of the Twelve Apostles that stand like sentinels overlooking the Atlantic coast. Enjoy a picnic lunch down in the Valley of the Red Gods and the Valley of Isolation. Eventually you arrive on the Table Mountain plateau for a pleasant walk towards the Upper Cableway station. Your guide will organize tickets and you will then proceed down Table Mountain in the aerial cableway, enjoying 360 degree views of Cape Town, Lions Head and the Mountain itself. Skeleton Gorge along the top of Table Mountain Plateau: A 6-hour moderate to strenuous hike: Start hiking in the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, renowned for their spectacular array of indigenous plants. Your full day hike will start at Kirstenbosch botanical gardens. These renowned gardens are one of the best in the world and feature South Africa's flora as well as some exotics. Your passionate and knowledgeable guide will show you through the upper section of the Gardens and to the forested trail up to Skeleton Gorge. Here hike through what is called an African mountain forest (Afromontane). Huge trees are some of the oldest on the peninsula. The path up the gorge is steep and requires a number or ladder and scrambling up rocks in a stream of water that has a calming sound and refreshing to splash your face with. The forest opens at the top and you can see down to the green botanical gardens and lush southern suburbs below, before you are greeted with a pearly white beach and lake to swim in on a hot day. Here, take a well deserved and refreshing break. The next part of the hike is a more gentle incline and through some unique flora that makes up the rich diversity of the top of Table Mountain. This trail will take you to Maclear's Beacon, the highest point on Table Mountain. Here, stop for lunch and enjoy the views of Newlands forest a kilometer below to the south and Cape Town center to the north. The final leg of the hike is a flat trek of the entire width of the "table top", enjoying the breathtakingly powerful views of Table Bay and the city below. Enjoy the shop and cafe at the upper cable station and grab a coffee, beer or bite to eat before taking the cable car down to end a memorable journey.

Day 1 After an 8:00 AM pickup from your hotel, start the day with a guided tour of Cape Town's famous Table Mountain. Follow this with a scenic drive through the coastal neighborhoods of Mouille Point, Three Anchor Bay, Sea Point, Bantry Bay, and Clifton before stopping for a photo opportunity at Maiden's Cove. Continue to Hout Bay for a boat trip to Seal Island. Hike through Platteklip Gorge on the shortest route to the top of Table Mountain. Take in the sweeping views of the Cape Town area from the top. It should take around 2 hours to hike up. The trail begins just past the lower cableway station on Tafelberg Road. This was the first route that explorers used to summit the mountain, way before the cableway was built. Enjoy panoramic views from the path to the top. This is definitely the best way for those who do not like heights and climbing to conquer the mountain.  There is an option of taking the cable car down (additional fee).

This half day hike begins next to the Lower Cable Station. The trail ascends to the contour path directly behind the cable station. It is recommended that only the fit and more adventurous do this hike.  The hike, involves a lot of rock scrambling and rocky high ledges. In return you get the most incredible views of Cape Town. Definitely the most scenic way up to the cable station and you will have a sense of great achievement.  Climb directly below the upper cable station through a maze of rocks, ledges and outcrops. Your guide will point out historical and natural landmarks as you navigate your way to the top.  While you are ascending and when you are at the summit your guide will point out features of interest and places to get that perfect Instagram shot. Look for local bird and flower species, the common rock "dassie" or southern rock agama bobbing up and down on warm sunny rocks.  Take breaks breath the fresh air and gorgeous views with cliff faces towering over you. Welcome encouragement from fellow hikers and locals cheering you to the summit.  Once at the top you can enjoy the relief of a flat surface to explore. .This is the only mountain peak in Cape Town where you can enjoy a coffee, beer or bite to eat in a summit cafe.  It is recommended you catch the cable car down in order to make the most of the rest of your day.

After meeting your guide at the bottom of the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway, your scenic hike carves a route up to the summit of Table Mountain. Your hike will start along the scenic pipe track, South West of Table Mountain, below the Twelve Apostles and above the white beaches of Camps Bay. This track is relatively flat and is a great way to warm up for the hike up Corridor Ravine later on. Your passionate and knowledgeable guide will point out landmarks as well as entertain you with some interesting stories of people who lived in these mountains once upon a time. The rusty old iron pipe that you follow disappears into the mountain before you ascend up a ravine to the top of one of the Apostle Buttresses. From here you can look down to the ocean one side and across to the green vineyards of Constantia on the other. You guide will then show you to a hidden gem on Table Mountain. Ancient cracks in the rock with views out onto Camps Bay and Lions Head. Enjoy a break and eat some food in these cool and shady caverns and explore the labyrinth. Walk the spine trail back towards the Table Top and visit the old Cable Station and overhanging rock so famous on Instagram. Descend down Kasteelport, another ravine that was used to transport material to build the dams on Table Mountain. Luckily, all you will be carrying is yourself and a few light pieces of gear.
