Full description
Explore some of the Philippines’ most beautiful landscapes and countryside in this tour of the island province of Bohol. Start with a visit to the Blood Compact Site in Tagbilaran City, and see the place where the Spaniards and Filipinos created friendly relations and ties through a blood ritual. From there we will head towards the Baclayon Church and Museum in the town of Baclayon, considered one of the oldest stone churches in the Philippines. Admire this old stone church and its religious relics dating back to the early 16th century. Later, watch local craftsmen as they make bolos and other handmade metal crafts in the town of Loay. See local men and women weave Nipa leaves into roofing materials, before visiting a typical Boholano home, the Clarin Ancestral House. Walk along the Loboc River, and keep your eyes open along the water for a Tarsier, the smallest monkey in the world. Feel the coolness of the air and gaze at the thousands of painstakingly planted mahogany trees in the man-made forest of Bilar. From there, feast your eyes on the breathtaking Chocolate Hills, a collection of over 1,200 clustered green hills that turn brown during dry season. This amazing site has been proposed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Finally, enjoy a relaxing cruise along the Loboc-Loay River, and take in the beautiful panorama of Nipa palm trees. Enjoy lunch on board during the cruise, and watch the amazing landscape pass by.
