What people are saying about Taormina
The transport is comfortable and our guide was friendly. There is only one winery we visited. It was picturesque and the wine tasting was endless although not a wide selection. Each wine was first accompanied with a selection of cheeses. We also had olives, eggplant and bread with olive oil. From here it was short trip to the restaurant where we were served a pre set menu of 4 or 5 shared dishes and a jug of red and white wine plus water. The restaurant location is lovely and full of locals which is a good sign.
The combination of Etna's self-evident beauty and guidance by a passionate local scientist makes this truly special. The vibrant colors of Etna's fall foliage was unexpected and stunning, and the mild November temperatures a circumstance to be grateful for. Tony was an exceptional guide whose passion for and knowledge of geology and history were a blessing. lt's a gift to be guided by someone who comes from a long local lineage that have called Etna their home.
The tour was just amazing our guide Salvo was very knowledgeable about the area's history its real stories and of course the movie scenes. Highly recommended whether you've seen the movie or not.
Salvo was very knowledgeable , had some great stories to tell and interesting facts about the local area. His driving was great through the narrow roads and he gave us some useful Local tips
