Mount Etna and Taormina Full-Day Excursion from Palermo
- Duration: 11 hours
Europe’s highest active volcano is studied extensively by scientists and is popular with trekkers and nature lovers as well. Visit Mount Etna and the clifftop village of Taormina on this 11-hour excursion from Palermo. From Crateri Silvestri you’ll take the funicular with a local mountain guide all the way up to 2,500 meters above sea level. From this point you’ll experience unforgettable panoramic views. Just south of Taormina is the nature reserve of Isola Bella, and further south you’ll see the popular seaside resort of Giardini Naxos. Visit the village of Taormina, a 45-minute drive from Mount Etna. Perched on a cliff overlooking the Ionian Sea, the village features an ancient Greek theater, many old churches, antique shops, lively bars and fine restaurants.

Excellent experience. Margaret our guide is a beautiful woman, elegant, intelligent, acute, with subtle humor and great culture, who has been able to lead us into the history of the city, Sicily and the Greek theater through extremely interesting anecdotes, stories and historical references and, why no, fun, which made the tour interesting and in-depth but still light and captivating. Congratulations Margaret! We hope to meet you again !!!! THANK YOU !! Alessandra Laura Guglielmo and Olimpia 19.08.21
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip! The guide (Joshua) speaks perfect English. He was very friendly and also was very careful with driving, as I've informed him about my car sickness. He told us a lot of interesting facts about Sicily. We were lucky with weather on top of Etna, so we could clearly see other craters and Sicily. Taormina was a very nice addition, cute small town with an amazing amphitheater. Overall, we had a blast! :)
Pic up on time, clean bus, excelent stops, advice, break and visits!!!
Great excursion, super friendly guides, all in all highly recommended.
100% recommended, Joshua is the best without a doubt
