Bohol Island: Countryside Day Tour

1. Bohol Island: Countryside Day Tour

Your Bohol Island journey won’t be complete without visiting its spectacular marvels. Bohol Island is the home to the famous Chocolate Hills, the smallest primate in the Philippines (Tarsiers), some of the most magnificent beaches and much more! After leaving Panglao Island, we’ll make our first stop in Baclayon Church, one of the oldest churches in the Philippines made out of coral stones. Then we'll visit a boutique salt-making workshop shop that has been making salt in a traditional manner unique to Bohol for generations, where we'll learn about local livelihoods and traditions. Then, we will continue to the Loboc River for a short cruise or a SUP tour instead – for the more adventurous among us. We’ll then visit the tarsier sanctuary and learn about this protected and peculiar primate that also serves as the province’s tourism symbol. This will be the perfect time for lunch, which we’ll have at the foot of the Chocolate Hills, and enjoy Filipino specialties in a local restaurant. We’ll visit the main view deck for a scenic view of the 1,776 almost identical hills or choose to see the hills via a thrilling ATV ride. On the way back, we’ll make a quick stop in Baclayon Church – one of the oldest churches in the Philippines. Our last quick stop will be in Bohol Island’s best-kept secret restaurant for a delicious homemade popsicle while viewing the sun setting over Panglao Island.

Small group of 9 travelers. The main guide gave some facts in the van as we drove. Stopped at an authentic salt making farm - unique and interesting process. Surprise local treats purchased and tasted. River cruise was in a small local boat (not the large party boat). What a beautiful view along the river! Stopped to listen to/watch local women/girls/boys dance, sing and play ukuleles - we were asked to leave a tip to support the locals. Tarsier sanctuary - very small place (took about 15 minutes to walk through). We enjoyed seeing the small primates, but missed learning the back story and current work of the sanctuary. Lunch was delicious local food: soup, seafood pasta, honey chicken, vegetables, and rice. It was an interesting day with many experiences. Abraham did not check in with us through email the day before the tour - that would be appreciated.

I’d recommend this tour to everyone that comes to Bohol! It included a number of the main attractions in Bohol such as the chocolate hills and Tarsier sanctuary, as well as smaller and local attractions. It is a full day so you can be sure you’re going to get a lot in the tour, the lunch was also delicious. Guides were great and listened to what the group wanted to do - and even allowed us to split at points to satisfy everyone. Book this!

It’s was really nice trip! Without a guide you will not see by yourself so many places. Weather was bad(raining) but it didn’t stop us to enjoy Bohol countryside trip. My highlights was boat trip at Loboc river, when we stopped and saw a traditional philippine dances. Highly recommend this trip to explore Bohol.

Nice tour that includes the highlights of Bohol. Small and fun group. Guides respond to our wishes and the ride in the van was very comfortable. Would definitely recommend Abraham Tours!
