About the activity provider
The D-Day Story is the only museum in the UK dedicated to the D-Day Landings. Told through the personal accounts of people who were there and the museum's iconic collections. It is a story of courage and determination, comradeship and sacrifice, secrecy, deception and innovation. D-Day affected the lives of millions, mostly ordinary people, caught up in an extraordinary event. The story is told in three parts, Preparation, D-Day and the Battle of Normandy, Legacy and the Overlord Embroidery. The Legacy Gallery features the magnificent Overlord Embroidery commissioned to remember those who part in D-Day and the Battle of Normandy. Film clips of veterans talking about their experiences give visitors an insight into what it was like to be involved.
