Full description
Cooking local food is the best way to get to know Japanese culture. Learn how to cook these meals at my little cute apartment in Shinjuku. The menu changes depending on the day of the week. You will cook one of the menus below with 2 to 4 items. The weekly menu schedule is below: SATURDAY, SUNDAY, MONDAY, TUEDAY (Morning class : 10:30AM-1PM / Evening class : 6PM-8:30PM ) Standard(traditional) meal days - Menu: Teishoku(set meal including rice, seasonal main dish, 2 seasonal side dishes ), or donburi, obento, tonjiru and rice ball and etc...... ※Cooking with seasonal ingredients is the basic of basic in Japanese cuisine! WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY, FRIDAY (Morning class : 10:30AM-1PM / Evening class : 6PM-8:30PM ) Popular food days - Menu: Teishoku(set meal including rice, seasonal main dish(fried dish), 2 seasonal side dishes ) or curry rice, okonomiyaki, gyoza, ramen, rice burger, kara-age, yakisoba, etc.......※Cooking with seasonal ingredients is the basic of basic in Japanese cuisine! An optional short trip (1PM-3:30PM) takes place everyday after the morning class. You will go to several amazing places which are not found in your guide books.

We loved this experience so much. Not only did we learn a lot about Japanese seasonal cooking and got to eat delicious food, we learned a lot about the philosophy behind it as well. Talking to Sato was eye-opening and easily one of the best experiences we have done. I only recommend doing a cooking class with him!

This experience was fantastic, delicious & felt really authentic - a must do! We booked this experience towards the end of our Honeymoon in Japan. Before the day, Chef Sato contacted us to check food preferences to tailor the menu. We met at the station, made the short walk to Sato's apartment, where he welcomed us in. We made 4 dishes & enjoyed seeing how they came together, learning about the ingredients. After almost 2 weeks of eating out twice a day, it was nice to have this experience - an intimate, authentic Japanese home cooked meal. The brilliant food is only one part of this, Sato is the other. He was a fun, down to earth host & really nice guy. We really enjoyed chatting to him, exchanging our stories and experiences. We even got other recommendations for where to get dessert as well as other things to do in Tokyo. If we found ourselves in Tokyo again, we would definitely book another experience for more quality food and a catch up. This is a must do! Thanks again Sato!

A wonderful experience and insight into the seasonal aspects of Japanese cooking. Chef Sato made us feel like we had been invited into his home as good friends. He was knowledgeable and skilled in his craft and his explanations of Japanese cuisine. The experience was fantastic and the lessons he taught us will follow us back to Sweden. We hope to one day again be able to have another lesson from this incredible man. With great respect Anton, Andrew and Maggie.
