Mount Tronador and the Black Glacier from Bariloche

2. Mount Tronador and the Black Glacier from Bariloche

Nature can be quite striking. This very special tour takes you to experience the most beautiful parts of Nahuel Huapi National Park. Visit forests, lakes, beaches, mountains and waterfalls. You will also see the highest mountain in the area - Tronador, which rises 11,411 feet (3,478 meters) above sea level forming a natural boundary between Argentina and Chile. The views from this high elevation are spectacular. In addition to magnificent scenery, you’ll see some of the unusual natural phenomena that occur in this region including the “Black Glacier,” Ventisquero Negro. It appears a striking black color despite being fed by a small river flowing from the spotless, white, Rio Manso Glacier, just several hundred feet higher, atop the mountain. This location is also the source of the Manso River, a mountain river winding all the way down to the Pacific Ocean, flowing across rapids, waterfalls such as the renowned Los Alerces Cascade, and a number of beautiful lakes.
