It's a long trek ( if you are not a trekker) and requires waterproof boots, most of the trek is on damp and Marsh soli. The alternative you are offered of cheap rubber boots is not very good. The ones my wife used were ruptured and they don't give you a good support. You will need trekking poles, but they are provided by the operator. Other than these operating issues it was very nice trek with very beautiful scenary.

The trek to Laguna will remain a highlight of our stay in Ushuaia. We were picked up on time, then when we arrived at the starting point, boots and trekking poles were given to us as well as a delicious picnic. After a few safety instructions, we started our trek to La Laguna Esmeralda supervised by our two super guides: David and Thomas who were not stingy with explanations of the flora and fauna along the way. Then finally the arrival at the lake, true beauty of nature, flanked between rocky bars like a jewel in its case! A great moment of emotion that we will remember for a long time.

Phenomenal hike! Definitely bring your own waterproof boots if you can, and get ready for a workout. The payoff is worth it! Beautiful glacial lake, and Daniel was a very knowledgeable guide.
