Full description

Start your day at the Vatican early and skip the notoriously long ticket lines by following a special route through the museums that gets you to the Sistine Chapel just as it opens for the day.

Enter before most of the crowd and spend a peaceful half-hour soaking up Michelangelo’s masterpiece along with stunning frescoes by other important Renaissance artists. Continue on to the Pinecone Courtyard for large buffet breakfast including hot and cold dishes, fruit juice, tea, and coffee.

Once you’ve eaten your fill, head back into the museums for a tour of the most famous artifacts, including the Belvedere Torso, the Apollo Belvedere, the Laocoön Group, and the Raphael Rooms, widely considered to be among the most beautifully-frescoed interiors in the world.

Visit the Gallery of the Candelabra with ancient Greek and Roman artworks. Learn about Raphael Sanzio at the Gallery of Tapestries, one of the most spectacular rooms of the museums.

Definitely our highlight of Rome. We were tired from walking all day the day before, and “toured” out if you will, but our guide was incredible and she made the entire tour so enjoyable. She hit all of the highlights, never keeping us somewhere for long periods of time. There is so much to see and we were on a little bit of a time crunch for our hotel check out and she kept us all on time. With only 10 people in our group it was easy to manage all of us and allowed for easily mobility. I couldn’t imagine what the Vatican is like NOT doing skip the line. Highly recommend this tour!

Ahmed was excellent. There was an elderly French woman who right at start in the meeting area started complaining. The wording on the website stated that there would be a short tour, breakfast right after, then the four would continue. She went on and on even during breakfast. Ahmed handled it like a pro and put up with it longer than I would have. This not the guide's fault but either the company or the travel agency she booked through. Ahmed got us to the Sistine chapel, which by the way does not open until past 9 and is at the end of the route everyone goes by, on time without the normal crowds. Just other groups wich booked the same type of experience. We happen to go back and do the route by ourselves later and let me tell you, you can barely walk by other people and the Sistine chapel is a traffic jam. So I highly recommend booking your tour.
