Your guide will take you to the famous Shakespearean sights of Romeo & Juliet, the Roman amphitheatre (internal visit not included in the tour) and before you finally will have an incredible panoramic view on the country's largest lake. After driving from Milan to Verona, you will be taken on a guided tour, following the footsteps of William Shakespeare's famous play 'Romeo & Juliet'. You will get to see the famous balcony of the Capulet residence where Romeo was said to have called out to his beloved Juliet. But Verona has even a lot more to offer: You will visit the famous Roman amphitheatre, which was built in the 1st century AD and where nowadays every summer Verona's well-known open air operas take place. Furthermore, the tour will take you to Piazza Mercato and other beautiful architectural places in downtown Verona. For lunch, you will be given some free time to explore the city by yourself and optionally do some shopping or simply enjoy the picturesque old town in one of Verona's splendid cafés! After lunch, we will continue our journey to Sirmione, a small fortified village at the end of a narrow peninsula that extends for about 4 km into Lake Garda and offers wonderful panoramic views on the eastern and western shores of the lake. Your guide will give you an extensive tour of the old town, before you may optionally join a boat tour on the lake.

Once you have left the city-center, pass through the countryside to reach Sirmione. Here, have the option to enjoy a lake tour by boat, giving you the opportunity to see the beautiful peninsula from the water. Options may be limited by the weather, and the availability of the boat. This beautiful medieval village, includes a castle, and will make you feel like you are back in olden times. The town is full of narrow lanes, and old shops, also called ‘botteghe’. Here you have a choice to explore the town on your own, or follow your guide and explore this village together. After an hour of free time the group will meet back up, and return to Verona by van.

You will have approximately 3 hours of free time (with optional lunch) to enable you to visit the house of Juliet (from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet), the historical Piazza delle Erbe and some of the exclusive shops around the city. Then just sit back and enjoy the views as we return to Venice.

Depart Bergamo and journey to the medieval city of Verona, where you can travel back to the days of Shakespeare and call for Romeo from the balcony of Juliet's House. Make your own way to Venice railway station in the morning and board the high-speed train that will take you to Verona in just an hour and a half. Meet your guide at the train platform in Verona and begin your tour of the city. Wander through the picturesque and historical streets of Verona, the so-called "city of love". and discover the locations of Shakespeare's tragic play about two star-crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet.  Visit Juliet's balcony where she looked out upon her lover Romeo, the lucky statue of Juliet, Romeo's House, Piazza dei Signori, Porta Borsari where the duel took place between Capuleti and Montecchi, and the famous Arena, where famous concerts are still held every year. End your tour in Piazza Bra. Then enjoy some free time to explore the city at your own pace before catching the train back to Venice. Do some shopping, taste the famous "Juliet's braid", a typical dessert from Verona, or sip a glass of Valpolicella, a wonderful red wine from the famous namesake hill of Verona. Reach Verona railway station in the early evening and catch your train back to Venice. Arrive in Venice railway station at approximately 7.00 pm. You will receive your train tickets the day before the tour date.
