Imagine you found a notebook. Your curiosity doesn’t allow you to just return it, you want to know what is inside and who it belongs to. When you finally open it, you realize that it was meant for you all along. The package contains a notebook, a map, letter with instructions, and a pen. This discovery will lead you on a 1.5 to 2-hour scavenger hunt in the charismatic former-meat-packing district of Copenhagen. You can gather your friends, family, or colleagues, and meet them at the location that’s written on your package. From here, simply open the package and let your adventure begin.

Copenhagen: The West End Gourmet Walking Tour

2. Copenhagen: The West End Gourmet Walking Tour

You will start the tour at Vesterbros Torv, and move into the center of the old red light district. Today the area is one of the most interesting parts of Copenhagen, full of undiscovered eateries and creative shops down little side streets. While you taste the best that the area has to offer, you will discuss the many recent changes from the butchers and the industrial revolution, to the hipsters and the foodies making the area their own. Sit down and eat in some of the best restaurants in the old meat packing district, trying a slice of gourmet pizza made with local ingrediens, and having a lunch of Middle Eastern delicacies reinterpreted through the lens of Danish ingredients and the new nordic cooking philosophy. In addition to these delicious samplings, you'll also get to try expertly brewed coffee, handcrafted gourmet chocolates and ice cream, and beer from a cosy local craft beer bar (wine and non-alcoholic options are also available). You will see Copenhagen as the locals see it, vibrant, living, creative and relaxing. The balance between the old and the new, the local and the international, maintained in the very center of a busy metropolis.

You can then cycle past the harbor baths, and over unique bridges like the Snake Bridge which leads you back to the mainland to explore the modern and vibrant meatpacking district in Vesterbro. You may even find a trendy dinner spot in the area, keep an eye out! To make sure you don't become worn out, you will take a short break in which you can stretch your legs and buy a snack, enjoying some relaxing “hygge” time. We had a great time with our excellent guide

The tour was such a good idea. We met our excellent guide and then headed off to a part of Copenhagen we would have easily missed. The meatpacking district was a revelation with interesting history, great restaurants, cafes and small businesses. This was a morning well spent.

Great guide, great food!

Would have been better if the hike started at 12:00 hard to be in Cph at 11:00 a weekend. considering trains, if you come from southern Sweden
