Viti Levu: Mud Pool, Temple, and Sleeping Giant Garden

1. Viti Levu: Mud Pool, Temple, and Sleeping Giant Garden

Begin your day trip at the vibrantly hued Sri Siva Subramaniya Swami Temple, which is the largest Hindu temple in the southern hemisphere. Admire the traditional Davidian architecture and the painted wooden carvings of deities crafted by artists who traveled here from India. Continue your journey and stop at Nadi to visit a local handicrafts shop. Here, you can browse for souvenirs before making your way to the Namaka Market, where errand-running locals peruse colorful stacks of tropical fruits and vegetables. From there, head to the Garden of the Sleeping Giant to stroll through beautifully landscaped trails through lush gardens featuring more than 2,000 different kinds of delicate orchids. Your final stop is at the Sabeto Mud Baths, where you can soak in a mineral-rich mud pool and rinse off in the clear waters of a thermal hot spring. Relax on the ride back to your accommodation. A divine, gratifying, and soul enhancing experience is guaranteed.  Make a stopover at a local primary school to visit the children. Any stationary or donation will be much appreciated. Then visit Fiji's first Fijian Village where the ancestors landed, Viseisei Village. This is a very culturally rich tour that enables you to learn about the village lifestyle and the traditional Fijian culture.

From Nadi: Momi Battery Historical Park Tour

2. From Nadi: Momi Battery Historical Park Tour

Take a guided tour to the Momi Battery Historical Park, a gun battery built high in the hills overlooking Momi Bay to defend the vulnerable island from invasion during the Second World War. Travel from Nadi and through traditional Fijian villages on a scenic drive to the site. Starting and ending at your hotel, the tour will take you on a comfortable and scenic drive past rolling sugarcane fields and traditional Fijian villages as you make your way to the Momi Battery Historical Park. You’ll be able to admire magnificent views over the sea as you approach the site. The gun battery sits high above the coastline of Momi Bay and is a reminder that Fiji was extremely vulnerable to attack by Japanese Imperial Forces during World War II. Learn about wartime efforts to protect Fiji, and the brave sacrifices made, as you explore the bunkers at the emplacement.

What people are saying about Viti Levu

We had excellent experience with our driver Rahul on this tour of January 2. The village did not accept visitors due to national holiday, but the Hindu temple visit, Farmers market (remember to drink kava!), Sleeping Giant garden (orchids!) and the mud pools & hot springs were all super. We even had a very relaxing and reasonably priced massage at the mud pool. We recommend Rahul and the Valentine Tours to anyone visiting Fiji!

Our guide Janet was wonderful. She took us to the waterfalls. We visited Orchid Island with a private tour with Mike and learned about ancient tribal settlements, with beautiful flowers. Visited the presidents guard and residence. local shopping. Highly recommend Janet who customized our tour to suit us!

BULA, The experience was incredible: The Sri Siva temple, the Viseisei Village, the Mudpool, Fiji massage, the Namada market, fruit and beautiful flowers and the sleeping giant garden. Thank you. I had a great day and experience. Fiji is beautiful and the people super friendly and chill. Vinaka. :)

A great itinerary. Eventful and fun day with our great guide Kamal. My favourite part was the mud pool and hotspring experience.

Great day of activity with good variety. The tour guide was great and very kind. Highly recommend.
