Meet your guide at the base of the Washington Monument. Start your tour by learning a bit about the history and controversies surrounding the construction of the 555-feet marble obelisk. Head towards the WW11 Memorial. Learn about the symbolism abound in this landmark built to honor those who served in the Second World War. Walk to the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial, often called the Vietnam Wall. Hear about the young designer and some of the secret design choices she is thought to have included. Continue to the Korean War Veterans Memorial and dive once again into the stories behind the design, from intentional reflections to the positioning of the soldiers. Finally, make your way up the steps to where Abe sits atop the Lincoln Memorial, to learn facts about the design of this grand and iconic structure erected in honor of the 16th president.
