Reykjavik: Whale Watching by RIB Speedboat

1. Reykjavik: Whale Watching by RIB Speedboat

Hop aboard a RIB speedboat and head out for a thrilling adventure just off Reykjavik's coast. Marvel at the abundance of sea life Iceland has to offer, such as majestic whales, dolphins, and porpoises. Begin your tour from Reykjavík’s Old Harbor and cruise among the small islands in the Faxaflói Bay, as well as along the coast of Reykjavík. Admire fantastic views of the city and its landmarks like the Harpa concert hall as you search for wildlife in the water. During your tour, pass by Engey, the second-largest island of the Kollafjörður (Faxa Bay) fjord in western Iceland. Also cruise past Lundey, literally “Puffin Island” in Icelandic, a small uninhabited island off Reykjavík’s western coast. Enjoy the chance to see incredible animals in their natural habitat without being overcrowded onboard the boat. And if you don't get lucky with wildlife sightings on the day you go, you'll receive a complimentary ticket to try again another day.

2. From Reykjavik: Northern Lights Guided Tour with Photo Shoot

Join this 16 people maximum tour, You will be picked up from either your hotel, guesthouse, or bus stop starting 30 minutes before departure time (Please allow a thirty-minute window for everyone to be picked up). The journey will take us outside of the city limits away from any light pollution as the Northern Lights are harder to see from Reykjavík. To which location it is hard to say, it will depend on the cloud coverage and activity in the evening. The drive will be kept as short as possible and you might stop at several locations as the lights can be quite elusive and often it will be a waiting game for this beautiful phenomenon, which might be perfect while your guide sets up his camera for the free photo shoot of your group. On this journey, we are going to offer you blankets, hot chocolate, and snacks.

Receive a complimentary glass of Champagne as midnight approaches and, as the clock strikes 12, raise a toast to the New Year. What people are saying about Western Region, Iceland

Our original trip was cancelled due to wind but Sea Trips made it easy to reschedule. We did the 9:30 am tour and it was great! They provided gloves, goggles and a full suit. You can bring a small bag with you but I recommend it attaches to your body because you go fast. The suits do have pockets though. We saw a humpback very close to the boat, a few Minke whales and a porpoise. We went on a really sunny and calm day, but I can see this really hurting your legs or back on a windy/wavy day. Overall had a great time though and would recommend.

The small boat allows you to get much closer to the whales (we saw one at a distance of one meter) and to have more time to see them being faster than the others (you can move from one sighting place to another much more quickly). The guide and the captain were really nice and prepared! Recommended!

The guide was great he kept driving to find a secluded place for us to enjoy the lights. Only disappointment was the photos he took of us were awful. He did serve hot cocoa which was nice as our hands were freezing.

We had a great trip on a beautiful day and saw some dolphins and three humpback whales. The guide and the boat driver were very nice. You get a warm suit, gloves and goggles for the trip.

Because of the high swell, a trip boat was booked. Was absolutely fine.
