1. Sedona/Flagstaff: Grand Canyon Tour & First-Class Train Ride
Your day begins with a pickup at your hotel in Sedona or Flagstaff or the nearby Village of Oak Creek from where you will enjoy incredible views on your way to the Williams train depot. Board the historic century-old Grand Canyon Railway and be entertained by cowboy characters. Enjoy the tunes of strolling musicians as train travel from the early 1900s is recreated on the 65-mile scenic journey to the canyon. The train offers wonderful views of the San Francisco Peaks and rolls through valleys filled with wildflowers, dense pine forests, high desert plains, and small canyons. The Grand Canyon Railway is still one of the best ways to experience the old west. The train arrives just steps from the Grand Canyon’s South Rim where you'll have free time to shop, dine, or just take in the incredible canyon views. Then, your guide will meet you at the bus and take you to the East Rim for a few more great lookout locations. As you drive out of the east exit, you’ll drive along the Little Colorado River Gorge into the Navajo Nation. Stop at the historic Cameron Trading Post where you’ll have the opportunity to browse the Native American artwork and shop for souvenirs before returning to the starting point of the tour by air-conditioned van following a great day in the west.
