Full description
Your guide will be waiting for you in your hotel's lobby at the appointed time holding a placard with your name on it. Normally, it takes about 50 minutes to drive from downtown Xi'an to the Terracotta Warrior Museum.  Three pits have been excavated and can be visited at the Museum. The largest pit, Pit 1, is believed to contain 6,000 warriors and horses. They are all life-sized, facing east, and are lined up in battle formation. What is particularly striking is the fact that no two of them are alike. Pit 2, which is smaller than Pit 1, contains around 1,300 warriors and horses, and it is still being excavated. The smallest pit, Pit 3, contains 72 warriors and horses, and is believed to be the army headquarters due to the number of high-ranking officers unearthed there. Next, visit the Bronze Chariot Pit where two painted bronze chariots are on display in a small museum to the right of the main entrance. You will then have the chance to taste the local people's favorite food, such as Rou Jia Mo (also called a Chinese hamburger), Yang Rou Pao Mo (pita bread soaked in lamb soup, your guide will show you how to break the bread into small pieces), noodles and dumplings. After lunch, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

Phoebe was a brilliant, knowledgeable guide with excellent English. The pick up and drop off from my hotel was very easy and the car was comfy and warm! The warriors were as amazing as expected with Phoebe’s expert knowledge of the history of the artefacts bringing it all to life. The lunch at a local restaurant afterwards was delicious - best meal I’ve had in Xi’an! Overall, a perfect tour and highly recommended. Thank you Phoebe!

Great guide very experienced and helpful

We went during golden week with our eyes wide open and used to crowds living in Asia, However thru no fault of the tour guide ( she did her utmost to avoid the crowds ) we found this to be a very dangerous experience as the site operators seem more interested in letting as Many people in at once to sell tickets with no thought to crowd control or safety and this was quite dangerous at certain times thruout the tour/ day

Great trip - highly recommended!

This was a great trip - well organised by Phoebe our guide. She was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Our small group of three had a great time. Lunch was beautiful and fresh - the best food we ate whild in China. The only negative is the Trippedt app used to convey information - I couldn’t get it to work at all - it wasn’t a problem though because Phoebe communicates with us directly on WhatsApp. Highly recommended.
